'Sunday' - A SoccerBible Short Film Featuring The Gun FC

Hackney Marshes is a spiritual home of football. Rows and rows of posts pack the pitches like church pews occupied with players as the sounds of crunching tackles, colourful language and referees whistles echo. Introducing 'Sunday', a SoccerBible short film featuring The Gun FC.

This is a religious offering where the sign of the cross is met with a 6ft powerhouse still running on the fumes from the previous nights party. Celebrating this beautiful wanderlust of football, this SoccerBible short film, supported by PUMA, tells the story of The Gun FC.

The early rise of a Sunday is something sacred and savoured, it is also a time shared religiously with the grass-roots game. In the case of Hackney Marshes, it is a place home to countless fixtures across the weekend. Teams bring their own nets while the posts stand tall and carry the tear of tape from game after game gone by. It's raw, it's real. The Gun FC are a team in every sense. Friends created through the common ground of the pub where they watch football, they're named after 'The Gun' ― a North London pub just a matter of miles away from the Marshes.

It's from The Gun where they travel to the Marshes and back again. Sundays are put aside in search of silverware that one day will go on display proudly at 235 Wells Street for all to see. Slipping into the latest PUMA Terrace Collection, it's a story that shows the spirit of the terraces as it lands at grass-roots level.

Hackney Marshes is a location that brings out the very best of a beautifully diverse game. One trip to the Marshes and you'll see all ages combined with a shared passion to play and support. You'll get challenges flying in and scuffed finishes, but also out-of-nowhere worldies. Gold teeth and tracky bottoms ― this is real football.

When one match finishes, another begins. Much like the regular fixture at 2pm, it's followed by the second essential from a day well catered. 4pm is roast time and the attention turns back towards the TV as the pub provides the warmth that gets the blood circulating again. A re-cap of the game just gone by is the customary chat, with celebrations and a suited sense of style that keeps the game ticking through to Monday.
