adidas Football Boots #takethestage

As an action-packed summer of Olympic games approaches, adidas are encouraging Great Britain to #takethestage. After the recent London launch of the new adidas Team GB kit collection, the three stripes have their sights locked on London and maximising Olympic exposure!

Some of adidas' biggest British names will be stepping out in special #takethestage football boots over the coming weeks. Steven Gerrard, Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe, Gareth Barry, Jack Rodwell and Fraizer Campbell have all had their footwear personalised with adidas' Olympic slogan.

Adidas are using the slogan 'Take The Stage' throughout their London 2012 promotions in a battle of the brands. It's adidas' biggest ever campaign and will feature throughout the sports manufacturer's global Olympic campaign.

Adidas sponsored athletes such as Steven Gerrard and Jack Rodwell will step out onto the field wearing the slogan in upcoming Premier League matches. The #takethestage campaign and adidas' tie-up with the 2012 Olympic Games has fuelled its long standing rivalry with Nike, who have their own #makeitcount movement leading up to the summer's competitions.

We saw a similar thing from Nike who recently kitted out Rio Ferdinand, Wojciech Szczesny, and Theo Walcott with #makeitcount personalised football boots back in January. Unlike Nike's stitched method of personalising their athletes footwear, adidas opt for a printed technique to achieve a cleaner result.

We'll be keeping a close eye on adidas' list of British players as they lace up for the final games of the season. It's going to be a busy summer of sports with the London Olympic Games and the European Championships and adidas are looking to be the brand who come out on top.
