Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the partnership between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, Zinedine Zidane has once again been brought onboard to front the Adidas Y-3 Spring/Summer collection.

Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto’s latest Spring/Summer 2022 Y-3 collection is the first chapter of the brand’s 20th anniversary celebrations, and Zinedine Zidane is back once more, reuniting with the brand for a set of celebratory visuals, having featured in campaigns and walked during runway shows throughout Y-3’s 20 year history.

The campaign has been called “20 Years: Re-coded”, and it sees South London director and photographer Gabriel Moses brought on board to showcase Zizou and the latest range through a series of stills and a short film. The inimitable Frenchman represents a deeply connective thread that brings key moments from the brand’s 20-year history to today, and reimagines them for tomorrow. 

The Zidane campaign represents an intervention – a moment of reflection to look back on figures with an iconic relationship to Yohji Yamamoto and Y-3,” explained Jamie Reid, he campaign’s creative director. “The pairing of one of football’s all-time greats with Gabriel Moses, an incredible artist of a new generation, offers a fresh interpretation of the brand’s past, present, and future”.
