Italian sportswear brand Kappa have teamed up with skateboarding icons Hélas Caps to provide a fresh new take on football heritage, unveiling an exclusive capsule collection that celebrates the beautiful game’s influence on Italian culture through the 90s.
Let’s take it back to Italian football during the 1990’s. The aura was unmatched. The colours, the kits, the culture… It was a decade that shaped both the beautiful game and the aesthetics that surrounds it. Tapping into that golden age, Kappa have teamed up with Hélas Caps, the French skate label, to deliver a capsule that blends football heritage with skateboarding’s streetwise edge.
Founded in 2011, Hélas has built its reputation on skate DNA, vintage styling, and a streetwear vibe. Bring that together with Kappa’s natural ability to fuse nostalgia with modernity, and you’ve got the perfect match. Together, they have created a collection that feels like a nod to calcio’s glory days, reimagined through a fresh skate lens.
At the heart of the collab sits a remastering of Kappa’s legendary ‘Banda’ design. You may think it’s just a striped down the sleeves and legs, but this is a symbol of heritage, this time reinterpreted to celebrate two cultures with shared passions. The collection acts as a time capsule brought into the present, each piece balancing retro cuts with modern finish. Perfect for both football romantics and today’s fashion crowd. Some key pieces include a track jacket and pants, a long and short sleeve jersey, and accessories including a hat and scarf.
To mark the launch, they will be hosting an exclusive pop up in the heart of Pairs, where fans will get the first chance to step inside this retro football x skate universe. For those not in Paris, the collection will drop 13 September 11am, so set those alarms.
The full collection is available 13 September...
