The New Tocco VI Headlines Umbro's 'The 5 Stages of Obsession' Campaign

For Spring/Summer ’26, Umbro leans all the way into players’ obsession with boots with the launch of the Tocco VI Pro and a new colourway for the Velocita Matrix.

Umbro’s new creative campaign, Five Stages of Obsession, taps into the intimate, unspoken connection players build with their boots. To players they are confidence, identity, belief. They change how you move, how you think and how you act on the pitch. And that is manifested in the brand’s updated touch silo, the Tocco Vi, which headlines the Double Diamond’s new campaign, joined by a new look for the Velocita Matrix.

The Double Diamond undoubtedly faces a battle on the boot market when faced with the like of the Swoosh and the Three Stripes. To the majority of consumers they’re not on the same level as adidas or Nike, but the brand has some serious history in the game, and that should never be underestimated; that history, that learned experience, it doesn’t just go away. So when they bring out a new update, it’s worth a closer look. Which brings us on to the next‑gen Tocco VI Pro, which lands in a clean yet quietly confident “White Asparagus, Black Shimmer, Gunmetal” palette. This is Umbro’s control silo, and that means something.

In a world where leather boots are a rarity, the full‑length leather upper here is the headline act: soft, supple, and built to mould to the foot in that slow, satisfying way that only premium leather can. It’s all about consistent feel and a personalised fit, giving players the kind of all‑round touch that makes the ball feel tethered to them.

An asymmetric lace setup opens a bigger, smoother striking zone — cleaner contact, truer connection, the kind of accuracy that rewards technique. Across the upper, 3D‑printed grip zones add subtle friction, amplifying control without ever feeling overbuilt. Around the collar, an internal silicone print locks the foot down so every movement feels stable, secure, and intentional. Below, the Pro‑Stance Pebax‑powered FG outsole brings a responsive, energy‑loaded ride.

These aren't changes for changes sake. They're purposeful tweaks and alterations in the continual quest for improvement.

Joining the drop is a fresh colourway of the Velocita Matrix Pro, Umbro’s lightweight speed boot, dressed in “Black Shimmer, Gunmetal, Pirate” — a darker, sharper, more aggressive finish that plays perfectly alongside the white‑based Tocco VI.

The upper is a thin, featherweight woven composite built from over 50% recycled yarns, hugging the foot for a second‑skin sensation. TPU yarns run through the weave to add micro‑texture, giving players that crisp, precise touch needed at high pace.

Inside the heel, foam pods create comfort and reduced slippage, while an external TPU casing adds bite and support on high‑intensity directional work.

Underfoot, the dual‑density Propulsion+ outsole brings snap, recoil and agility — built around Pebax for maximum energy return with a stud layout tuned for rapid acceleration in every direction.
