Following up on last year’s lifestyle‑leaning drop, 1. FC Köln and hummel return with another release that once again places the heartbeat of the city front and centre. Only this time, Köln aren’t keeping it strictly off‑pitch. The new special edition jersey will make its Bundesliga debut when the men’s team face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, 7 March.
The new 1. FC Köln shirt hits with quiet confidence that I can really get behind. Sharp red pinstripes cutting through a subtle grey base: elegant, unfussy, distinctly modern, and topped off with a classic collar. It’s the kind of design that slips seamlessly into everyday wear, blurring the lines between club kit and cultured streetwear staple. In a rare gesture that underscores the project’s community-first ethos, partners REWE and DEVK have stepped back from featuring their logos on the fan version, letting the design breathe. The crest and the hummel chevrons sit cleanly in a look that feels timeless but fresh – Köln through and through.
Available in both short‑sleeve and long‑sleeve variants, the collection extends to a blue goalkeeper kit, switching the palette but keeping the pinstripes that tie the whole story together.
For FC Managing Director Philipp Liesenfeld, the jersey is more than matchday apparel, it’s cultural fabric: “In Köln, football is not just a game, but a fundamental part of people's lives… A big thank you goes to our partners REWE, DEVK and hummel, who made this special kit possible.”
And from hummel’s side, the intention was clear: build a kit that blurs generations and feels authentically Köln.“It stands for the genuine, unadulterated passion that defines Köln… This kit is for the city,” explained Morten Lund, Marketing Director, hummel.
For a release rooted in culture Köln needed a voice, and for that they turned to homegrown rap duo Lugatti & 9ine, lifelong FC supporters and staples of the city’s music scene. As the faces of the “This is for the City” campaign, they’ve crafted an exclusive track titled “Allez”, weaving together themes of local identity, solidarity and club pride.
The jersey is available now at the club's online store.
