Dripping In Style: FC Augsburg & Mizuno Unveil A Sleek New Third Look For 2025/26

In a move that fuses deep-rooted heritage with contemporary design, FC Augsburg and Mizuno unveil the third kit to complete the perfect lookbook for 2025/26. The ‘Roman’ kit transports fans back to the club’s ancient foundation whilst providing them with one of the kits of the season.

They did it last year. They’ve done it again this year. This FC Augsburg x Mizuno partnership is doing God’s work since it started, providing us with some of the cleanest kits we have seen in previous seasons. For 2025/26, they do it again, completing one of the sets of the year with the latest third look. It’s as sleek as they come, with the story to match.

After the success of the ‘Roman’ third kit from 24/25, FC Augsburg continue down this heritage-heavy route, with the new threads anchored in the campaign slogan ‘Augusta Vindelicum’ – the Latin name for the city of Augsburg. This is far more than just a kit drop, this is a cultural statement carved from history. Let's turn back the clock to have a look...

Taking a trip back in time, this shirt highlights Augsburg’s Roman roots in the slickest way possible with a stunning design and incredible attention to detail. At first glance, the shirt’s all-black canvas evokes a simple yet striking design, but a closer look reveals a richly embossed canvas on both the front and back of the shirt, inspired by the Roman-era artefacts unearthed beneath the very grounds of the club’s WWK Arena. If that’s not detailing at its finest then I’m not sure what is. The intricate patterns not only provide a distinctive aesthetic, but they are literal inscriptions of FCA’s historical DNA, etched into the fabric of a club that thrives off of identity.

“After the ‘Roman’ kit received such a positive reception, we worked closely with our kit supplier Mizuno in order to produce a special third shirt for the upcoming season. The result is a stylish design in black and gold which once again evokes the Roman roots of our city,” said Michael Ströll, CEO of FCA.

As if that wasn’t enough to sell you on this shirt, the design is thrown into a pool of luxury with the added golden detailing – an effortless elevation of a sleek design. The FCA and Mizuno badge are rendered entirely in gold, adding a touch of contemporary finesse, whilst golden accents also trim the sleeve cuffs and collar. Undoubtedly a shirt packed with an imperial aura that wouldn’t look out of place on a Roman general, or a midfield maestro. You just can't go wrong with black and gold.

Mizuno continue the storytelling on the back of the shirt, where ‘MCMVII’ sits bold in gold, referencing FC Augsburg’s founding year 1907 in Roman numerals.  But the real standout detail? The Roman-style players names and numbers, printed in an eye-catching design that draws inspiration from the ruins of Augsburg history.

In a sea of template kits, FC Augsburg and Mizuno just unearthed a relic worth remembering. This Roman-rooted modern armour is not to be missed out on this season.
