Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt are stepping into the champions league spotlight with a kit that carries more than just the weight of a football game, it carries the weight of a melting world. This is a statement of urgency.
Bodø/Glimt and PUMA are stepping up to fight against global warming, as they unveil a new third kit that acts as more of a warning than a shirt to last 90 minutes. Having said that, this kit is still as clean as it gets whilst staying true to its main message. Ice sits at the core of this design, playing with frosty whites and cold blues to mirror the aesthetics of the famous glaciers that sit across Bodø's home – Norway. This kit doesn't just represent the club, it represents the ongoing crises our world faces every day with the increase of global warming.
The design is inspired by Svartisen, Norway’s second largest glacier. A stunning marvel of frosted whites and ice-cold blues that now face the threat of extension due to global warming. Scientists warn it could vanish in the next 30-50 years. Beauty gone. Bodø/Glimt and PUMA have taken that beauty and reimagined it into a distinctive kit that acts as both a tribute and a warning.
The shirt itself, as highlighted before, fashions a frozen blue and white colour palette, elevated by a diamond design patter that brings a new layer of texture to the piece. On the back of the shirt features a final message of 'Action Now' in bold – reaffirming the third kits theme.
Fans will be buzzing to see their team take on Champions League matchday’s as they fight against the likes of Manchester City, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund, but the bright floodlights will shine on a shirt that poses a question ‘when will we make a change to stop global warming?’
