MEYBA & Tamila Team Up For A Jersey That Celebrates Pub Culture With A South Indian Twist

Meyba’s revival continues to write new chapters in the cross-pollination of football, fashion and culture. This time, the Barcelona-born label steps off the pitch and into the kitchen, linking up with Tamila – the modern curry house from the team behind The Tamil Prince – for a collaboration that distils the essence of British pub life: beer, football and curry.

Meyba’s modern renaissance has seen the brand expand far beyond its Catalan foundations, using football shirts as a canvas for collaboration. From Fabric and Defected to Download Festival, Wide Awake and even The Beatles, Meyba has blurred the lines between football culture and wider creative expression. Now, for the first time, the brand partners with a restaurant – and one with deep cultural gravitas.

The MEYBA x Tamila jersey lands as a slice of nostalgia reimagined, a proper terrace classic rebuilt with Tamila’s identity woven through every thread. On the chest, an embroidered Tamil Football Club badge anchors the story – designed exclusively for this collab – while the palette draws straight from the rich, spice-laden tones of Tamila’s curry houses in King’s Cross and Clapham. It’s football heritage re-seasoned for today.

Flip the shirt and the narrative deepens. The number 5 is printed in Tamil script, sitting proudly beneath the Indian flag – a subtle but powerful nod to Tamila’s South Indian roots. The retro-inspired collar seals the vintage aesthetic, pulling the whole piece back into the era that first made Meyba synonymous with the beautiful game.

People have been asking us for years about merch,” says Glen Leeson, co-founder of The Tamil Prince. “But we didn’t want to do it just for the sake of it. When we started talking to the MEYBA team over a few beers and a biryani, it just clicked. Curry, pints and football. What else do you need?

For MEYBA, the partnership is another step in redefining what a football brand can be. “As a challenger brand, we re always looking for collaborators who stand for something,” said Jonathan Jones, Head of Global Marketing at MEYBA. “Over the last two years, we have collaborated with amazing music artists, record labels and festivals, but this concept really captured the team s imagination, combining all the things we love, to create a shirt that is truly timeless.

The MEYBA x Tamila shirts will be available from 27 August.
