Chalobah Signs With Reebok & Offers First Look at Launch Colourway for Sidewinder Boot

Hot on the heels of the announcement that Serbia and Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović had signed with the brand, Reebok have confirmed a second capture: Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

The signing of Chalobah builds on Reebok’s expanding presence in elite football, as the brand continues assembling a new generation of athletes ahead of its upcoming performance football launch. Admittedly, this isn’t quite the era of Ryan Giggs and Thierry Henry, two players who represented the brand at the peak of their powers in the late ’90s and early 2000s, but it does feel like a statement of intent, signalling Reebok’s moves to re-establish itself on the pitch. It's reminiscent of the way Skechers entered the game back in 2023. Sure, Chalobah and Vlahović are no Harry Kane, but it's a level of strategic manoeuvring and on-pitch visibility as the brand strengthens its football platform.

“Reebok is a brand with a deep history in sport, and being part of its return to football is exciting,” said Chalobah. “The vision for the next chapter of Reebok Football is ambitious, and I’m proud to represent the brand on the pitch at this moment.”

The announcement – and Chalobah’s subsequent appearance in the Champions League against PSG – also gave us our first look at what’s expected to be one of the launch colourways of the Sidewinder, the brand’s first boot of its football comeback. Vlahović previously showed off a white colourway with black accents, while Chalobah’s pair features a black base overlaid with volt detailing.

Very little has been revealed about the boot itself. From early images, it appears to feature an aggressive aesthetic with a synthetic upper covered in embossed and debossed ridges. This intricate texture is likely designed to create a grippy, abrasive surface that enhances touch, swerve and control on the ball, while keeping the overall profile lightweight – fairly standard territory for modern boots. It also appears to feature a one-piece stretch-knit tongue and collar integrated into the lacing system, keeping it in line with other speed boots on the market such as the adidas F50, Nike Mercurial, PUMA Ultra, Mizuno Alpha and New Balance Furon.

It will be interesting to see what else Reebok have up their sleeve in terms of both players and product. More details on the brand's upcoming performance football collection, including the Sidewinder boot, will be revealed later this year, so keep it locked for more information as and when it becomes available.

The Reebok Sidewinder boots are expected to be released in the summer of 2026.
