World Cup > SoccerBible World Cup Update - 02/07/10

After two days of not knowing what to do with ourselves, the World Cup has returned and has some mouth-watering ties to offer us. Today sees the start of the quarter final games, kicking off with Holland versus Brazil followed by Uruguay versus Ghana.

Eight teams remain from the thirty-two that began the competition, with the full draw detailed below. There are some interesting match-ups, with the prospect of some even more interesting semi-finals, but who's YOUR money on to win the World Cup?!

There's been plenty to discuss at the World Cup, along with some interesting boot spotting, some great team play and plenty to look forward to. Check out the SoccerBible's view on the latest goings on in South Africa...

Danny (Portugal)
Puma v1.06

Robinho (Brazil)
Nike Elite Vapor/Superfly?

Okay so this may be a couple of days ago, but with no football we haven't been able to run our regular World Cup update to feature this great boot spot. But we were loving Danny's Puma v1.06 football boots, with the iconic grass colourway.

Robinho has sparked an interesting debate, as you can clearly see he has the Vapor VI sole-plate, and you can also clearly see he has no lace-cover and there are no signs of one being removed. Have Nike built a bespoke boot for Robinho, maybe a Vapor/Superfly hybrid to promote the Elite series.

As we enter the crucial quarter final stage of the World Cup we've got some very interesting stats on some of the key players, thanks to our friends at Castrol Football. The four featured players are key to their teams progression in the competition, see how they've performed so far at the World Cup...

Is your team still in the World Cup and do you think they can go all the way, or has your team been eliminated and you've adopted another nation to support? Have YOUR say and share your opinions about the World Cup on the SoccerBible!
