Goalkeepers > Joe Hart's New Gloves - Umbro Neo Pro DPS

Today Manchester City kick off their season in the Community Shield. Between the sticks, England number one Joe Hart will be sporting a new pair of Umbro gloves. Sunday's game at Villa Park against Chelsea will see the Umbro Neo Pro goalkeeper gloves make their debut on the hands of Joe Hart.

Designed in a classically smart white and royal blue colourway, the Neo Pro DPS will be worn by England duo Joe Hart and Jack Butland throughout the 2012/13 season. Take a look and let us know what you think.

The Umbro Neo Pro PDS gloves are crafted from a lightweight, tight fitting neoprene fabric and use a breathable structured mesh fabric on the fingers, keeping a goalkeeper’s most important assets comfortable in all conditions.

The Neo Pro DPS glove has been constructed using a 4mm Hyper-Hesion palm which provides amazing grip in dry and wet conditions. The DPS in the Neo Pro gloves stands for Digit Protection System, an additional layer of rigid protection for your fingers inserted into the main body of the gloves.

With a structured punch-zone on the back of the gloves adding extra protection and increased distance for your clearances, the Neo Pro gloves also feature an extended palm zone which makes it easier for keepers to gather the ball and then turn defence into attack as quickly as possible.

A surround-cut latex wrapped from the palm thumb has an advantage that there are fewer seams on the glove making it more comfortable. This style is also more suitable for wider hands, because it is not as snug as a roll-finger or flat palm. A thumb dart on the Umbro Neo Pro DPS goalkeeper gloves improves articulation allowing for a better range of movement.

A Neoprene wrist closure on the Umbro Neo Pro DPS Goalkeeping Gloves gives a supportive fit. Side wrist entry system makes the gloves easy to put on or take off.

Let us know what you think of Joe Hart's new Umbro Neo Pro DPS gloves and who you're backing in todays Community Shield. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Looks pretty comfortable and airy, like the colors, and the palm looks super padded but looks like a kind of bad grip.

@lucky-7 it probably would have cost them the game had chelsea had 11 men throughout. it's only a minor back problem for hart, though
