We recently joined the Nike Academy on their travels and grabbed a quick word with four of the Academy players to get their thoughts on their chosen Nike football boots. See what they had to say as they spoke to SoccerBible. This select group of elite young footballers tour the country playing teams from Arsenal to Torquay United. Their most recent stop was Plainmoor - home of The Gulls - where SoccerBible was pitch-side to watch the action unfold and chat to some of the players.A spot in the Nike Academy puts you in the eyes of some of the world's most renowned scouts. Following the sides 1-1 draw with Torquay United, Jamie Edge (CTR360), Alex Parsons (Mercurial), Billy Irons (T90) and Jordan Tunicliffe (Tiempo) sat down to discuss their footwear. One look at the line-up of both sides and it didn't take long to realise how popular the Nike Clash range has been at every level of football. Alex, Billy and Jordan were all in action wearing their respective Euro colourway, while Jamie had made the move into the Sonic Yellow/Black CTR360 Maestri III. Each player was using Nike's SG Pro outsole. Speaking on Nike's recently introduced outsole design, the players said: (Jamie) “Yeah I love the mixed ones. It's much easier to get in and out of the ground and shift your body weight a lot easier.” (Alex) “Recently there’s been a lot of players slipping and I've been in teams where the manager has battered you if you've slipped and conceded a goal – it helps massively. As the guys also explained, the novelty of getting a new pair of boots never wears off! (Jordan) “You always get a buzz when you get a new pair of boots, and you always want to go out and use them.” (Jamie) “You get a new pair of boots and it's like Christmas! No footballer changes.” After chatting exclusively to SoccerBible it was back on the road for the Nike Academy. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
nice
so they play the worst team on the tour and draw 1-1........... cool!
the ctr wearer looks about 35!
i really want the laser but it's a bit pricey for me, are the version below ok?
all great boots. CTR'S and vapors are my personal favourite. Tiempos aren't too bad either.
epic
balatcha, i have the t90 strikes and theyre as good as the lasers! they have the same striking pattern as the lasers do. all thats different is the stud color and that doesnt make any difference! so i hope this was helpful for you!
Wow all of those have been suckered into marketing there?
Be nice to have heard something different other then 'yeah as a winger i wear vapors to make me faster across the pitch'
@david89
so true they should mention how the vapors rip in 3 weeks.
and hurt your feet after 3 weeks.
probably why ozil switched
Dude I bought some vapors and they killed my feet so I switched to the Adidas LZ Predators and they have worked perfectly!
everygreatpowerfalls- the vapors weren't too uncomfortable, i actually thought they were much more comfortable than the superfly range, but as for the durability, yeah, they just suck. i had my clash vapors for a month and a week, and the stud cracked in half and it was left dangling. and i only played on good grass, and maybe one field that was a little hard, but still mostly grass. so yeah, it took me by surprise and it was upsetting. luckily, i can send them back, and now i'm gonna try out the CTR's, so hopefully it works out!
in all honesty, i play CM, or CAM, and all 4 of these boots are just perfect and it sucks cause it causes me a headache whenever i get new boots haha but ima get the CTR's and hopefully they live up to their hype!
I loves this styles very much !
Every time a footballer gets a new paid of boots, its like christmas! well said, mate.
this will be me in a couple of years :D
T90
