Football News > Global Football Boots Spotting - 03/09/12

A Premier League appearance for the Nike GS, Manchester City striker scores wearing Predator DB colourway and Falcao stakes his claim as PUMA's best player. All the latest bootspotting headlines from around the globe...

Raheem Sterling (Liverpool) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Liverpool teen star Raheem Sterling proved he's worthy of the hype that currently surrounds him. The tricky winger put in another impressive performance against Arsenal wearing the Nike Vapor VIII Clash football boots. With Liverpool's thin squad this season, we're expecting to see a lot more of Sterling this season!

Edin Dzeko (Manchester City) adidas Predator DB LZ

Edin Dzeko bagged the winner for Manchester City wearing his new adidas Predator DB LZ football boots. City narrowly saw off QPR 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium sixteen weeks after last seasons dramatic finale. Dzeko was in action wearing the White/Pink David Beckham Preds for the first time.

James McClean (Sunderland) Nike GS

Sunderland winger James McClean is obviously a boot fan! He has managed to bag himself a pair of the highly limited Nike GS football boots, giving them their first taste of Premier League action as Sunderland took on Swansea.

Fredy Guarin (Inter Milan) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin had a few performances wearing the recognisable Sonic Yellow/Black Nike CTR360 Maestri III football boots before deciding he couldn't take any more of colour! For Inter's latest match against AS Roma, the Columbian showed off his black-marker skills with the disguised CTRs.

Nicolas Frey (AC Chievo Verona) miadidas Predator LZ

Nicolas Frey took the design of his adidas Predator LZ football boots into his own hands creating his own custom miadidas boots. His side were in Serie A action against Parma FC. We're not totally sold on his use of colours! We'll give the Frenchman's design efforts a 4/10!

Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid) Puma evoSPEED 1

Was Falcao out to impress his future employers? The Columbian striker netted a first half hat trick for Atletico Madrid in his sides 4-1 win over European Champions Chelsea. Falcao is being heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window. Along with Sergio Aguero, could Puma soon have two of the EPL's deadliest strikers?!

Ryad Boudebouz (Sochaux) miadidas f50 adizero miCoach

There's no photoshop trickery involved here! This is Ryad Boudebouz's answer to all of the flash colourway's we see nowadays – one of the most unimaginative miadidas creations ever! The midfielder was spotted wearing the unique looking boots in Sochaux's Ligue 1 match with Montpellier.

Danny Batth (Wolves) Nike T90 Laser IV

Danny Batth had a fresh coating of black-marker on his Nike T90 Laser IV Clash football boots for Wolves Capital One Cup tie with Northampton Town. The defender certainly has no interest in coloured boots – we've seen him black out his Nike football boots for the past year. He could have picked an easier colourway to cover up though!

Raphael Matthis (Austria) Under Armour 10K Force Pro II

Here's a boot you don't see every week. U17 Austrian international Raphael Matthis was spotted wearing the Blue/Orange Under Armour 10K Force Pro II football boots during the UEFA Toto Cup match between Austria and Germany. Not the biggest name in football but you've got to start somewhere!

Mikel Arteta (Arsenal) Puma evoSPEED 1

In his debut season for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta wore both the v1.11 and King SL. This season, the Spaniard has kicked-off another campaign with The Gunners wearing the evoSPEED 1. Against Liverpool, it was his first performance wearing the Orange/Charcoal/Green colourway – the exact match-worn boots you'll be able to win exclusively with SoccerBible as part of Puma's “For Real” campaign!

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) Puma PowerCat 1.12

Marco Reus recently renewed his contract with Puma, and is certainly one of the brands most exciting young prospects. The German international recently gave us another look at his custom Puma PowerCat 1.12 boots with a bespoke mixed-stud configuration during Dortmund's Bundesliga match with FC Nuernberg.

I noone going to discuss the new sock tape the same colour as your socks. I played my first game of the new season at the weekend, and wear black socks and had to take off my Nike white guard stays. Surely at amature level its not important!?

Back in my day we didn't use this tape everyone seems to be wearing. Just a piece of bandage or rope.

This really is the worst era of football boot colouring and design I've ever seen.

The new Nike boots just looks like a black plastic shoe dipped in yellow paint.

The Adidas F50s look like the boot equivalent of a futuristic patch-work quilt crossed with a stealth bomber.

Puma don't know what the hell they're doing, never before have I seen such colours in the same place.

All of them are absolutely hideous.

The black-out Adidas 11pro and Nike Tiempo are the only decent looking boots I've seen lately.

batth has probably got his hands in a proper black out kit - they are on ebay and actually dye the upper - therefore the y look professional opposed to the mark pen jobs!!

also stop harping on about the tape, yeah it doesn't look as good, but it doesn't matter - plus those wearing ankle protectors and actually stays - very very effeminate!!

I don't like seeing other pros wearing the GS because they were designed for just one, so this just adds to my dislke for James McClean to be honest, just like I dislike Dzeko even more now for wearing DBs boots.

One of the few people who make sense on here, and @SoccerBible;

Who are you to judge what Ryad Boudebouz wears on his feet?  if he wants plain and simple good for him, he's playing in the pros, he can wear whatever the hell he wants.  Not everyone out there wants to look like a ***!

Tootsboots will blackout your own boots or order and blackout a new pair at a  very reasonable price or  you can order a DIY kit and  take on the job yourself with loads left over for another pair or  to individualise loads...I can recommend them...

Check them out at www.tootsboots.co.uk  where you can see samples of their work and order a DIY kit . I follow them on twitter for all the day to day pictures. Thanks again tootsboots....
