Football News > PUMA Dreamcatcher - Cesc Fabregas & Tomas Rosicky

What if you could capture the vivid childhood dreams of the world’s top footballers and transform them into a fluid story that unfolds before your very eyes? PUMA has set out to do just that with the “DREAMCATCHER” series, running throughout the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship.

To celebrate the sportlifestyle brand’s long-standing partnership with European Football, PUMA enlisted renowned Ukrainian sand animation performance artist, Kseniya Simonova, to uncover the childhood dreams of top footballers and turn them into awe-inspiring works of performance art, the innovative telling of which will be captured via short films.

In a series of revealing conversations, Simonova sat down with PUMA-sponsored football stars: Tomáš Rosický, captain of the Czech National Team and Spain’s midfielder Cesc Fàbregas, amongst other notable European footballers. Simonova spoke at length with each about images and memories from childhood dreams, how they continue to fulfill their football dreams and their hopes for the Euro 2012 tournament.

The fluid sand animation storytelling was captured in a series of short films that offer viewers a unique glimpse into the inner thoughts of their football heroes. The result is a collection of moving, magnetic images that inspire and portray the life-long passion each of the footballers has for their beloved sport.

The two-minute films will be screened throughout the Euro 2012 tournament for Cesc Fàbregas and Tomas Rosický, and a joint film with Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini on June 21. Following the screening of the captivating films, football fans can enter for the chance to win player-signed PUMA products. Simonova will perform a live sand sculpture act during Euro 2012 in a major square in Kiew, Ukraine.

It's quite a different and innovative storytelling performance PUMA have adopted, one that brings footballers childhood dreams to life through an artist local to the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. We'd love to hear what you think of the contributions of Cesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky, and if you're looking forward to Buffon and Chiellini? L
et us know your thoughts and join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Your kidding me right? Telling me to set the bar higher......He plays for Barcelona, he's #10 on the Spanish national team and one of the greatest midfielders to ever played the game.

@goonerboy4life playing for barcelona is not a stamp of approval in it self. lots of players have played there, but not all with great success. that being said, he didn't really change to a new club and get big challenges. he went home to his first club and and is being eased in to the the team, playing when some of the regulars needed a break or as xavi, was injured.

and having the nr. 10 in your squad is not that big a deal on european teams as on the brazil or argentine teams. look at the rest of the team, alvaro negredo has nr. 11, how much time on the field has he had?? and how much did fabregas suck when he was at arsenal then, didn't he wear nr. 4?? so i wouldn't read to much into the numbers.

but, that being said he is a really good player. he has yet to prove being one of the greatest midfielders to ever play the game. but he is young so time is in his favor. the next 5 years will show if he is to be remembered as the likes of zidane and xavi. just to name 2 greats past and current.
