Football News > Global Football Boots Spotting - 15/05/12

Our last boot spotting of the domestic season includes some random spots from across the European leagues, with an array of blacked-out, custom and new football boots on show. Our boot spotting lens also turned it's attention to Euro 2012 and across to South America, so check out who caught our eye this week...

Lars Bender (Germany) Nike T90 Laser IV

It's not the first time we've seen Bayer Leverkusen's Lars Bender wearing a pair of black-out Nike T90 Laser IV football boots. The German international was sporting his all black boots as his international side underwent Euro preparations at their Sardinia training camp. Bender is better known for wearing the adiPure range, but could be in line for a brand switch come the summer.

Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has flirted with both the adizero and Predator during his debut season at the London club. In his latest run-out at Stamford Bridge, the Belgian was spotted wearing a pair of the Blue/White/Energy adizero miCoach football boots. Chelsea were in action wearing their new home strip ahead of their trip to Germany to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) Puma v1.11

When Puma signed Sergio Aguero, they knew he'd bag a good number of goals for Manchester City. But none will be more important than his 94th minute winner against QPR which secured his club the Premier League title in the most dramatic of circumstances. With Manchester City recently announcing a new partnership with Nike, the American brand will be kicking themselves for losing one of the worlds best strikers from their books.

Roman Shishkin (Lokomotiv Moscow) adidas f50 adizero miCoach

The new Red/White/Blue f50 adizero miCoach has an exciting summer ahead with the European Championships. The colourway will be adidas' lead boot for the tournament with players including Lukas Podolski, Arjen Robben and Ashley Young all in line to wear it. Before they travel to Poland/Ukraine, they were getting some game time in the Russian Football League with Lokomotiv Moscow's Roman Shishkin.

Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid) adidas Predator Lethal Zones

Xabi Alonso finished the La Liga season wearing a blacked out pair of adidas Predator LZ football boots during Real Madrid's final home game against Mallorca. The Spanish international has made a handful of appearances wearing the new Predator since their launch, but presumably isn't a fan of the current colourways! Judging from his adiPure days, the midfielder is more in favour of traditional looking boots. It will be interesting to see what he wears for the European Championships.

Fred (Fluminense) Mizuno Morellia

There are only a handful of high profile strikers who wear black out boots on a regular basis – Francesco Totti being one of them. Brazilian striker Fred is another name on this list. The Fluminense player was in Libertadores Cup action wearing his usual Mizuno Morelia black-out football boots against Internacional.

Michael Rudolph (Meuselwitz) Nike Mercurial Vapor CR7

They were undoubtedly one of the most talked about football boots of the 11/12 season. If you look hard (and we mean really hard), they're still out there to be spotted! The fifth tier of German football isn't usually the first place we look to for a good boot spot, but Michael Rudolph of ZFC Meuselwitz gave us a surprise as he stepped out wearing the pinstripe boots!

Cedric Hengbart (Auxerre) Under Armour Dominate Pro

An Under Armour player, Auxerre's Cedric Hengbart often switches between the Dominate Pro and the Blur Pro, though interestingly not into the Hydrastrike Pro. But arguably as a defender the Dominates are more suited to his strong game, as a sturdy and tough boot.

Juan Roman Riquelme (Boca Juniors) adidas adiPure II

A craftsman in the middle of the park, Juan Roman Riquelme is one of footballs playmakers who make the game look easy. Comfort looks to be key for the Argentine midfielder, as he is still wearing a pair of adiPure II football boots, a boot that was new back in 2009.

Mathieu Valbuena (Marseille) Nike Vapor VII/Superfly III

Despite trying them out last week, Mathieu Valbuena is so far turning his back on the new Vapor VIII's and instead preferring to remain in the older versions. It will be interesting to see if this remains the case as we head into the Euro's, and with Nike planning on getting all their players in the 'Nike Clash Collection'.

Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus) adidas adiPure 11Pro

After an illustrious career with Juventus, Del Piero played and scored in his last game for the club. The title was already in the bag, but with victory Juventus completed a record season in which they were unbeaten. Del Piero wore adiPure 11Pro's, and we imagine they are a pair he will cherish and keep, after over 500 appearances for the Turin giants.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Saint-Etienne) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII Custom

At first glance you might think Aubameyang is wearing the Sail/White Vapor 8's, currently being sported by Cristiano Ronaldo. But closer inspection confirms Pierre-Emerick has designed his own pair of Mercurial Vapors in White/Green, a classy match for the Saint-Etienne kit.
