Football News > Exclusive: Peter Crouch Talks Football Boots

Here at SoccerBible, we’re fortunate enough to get all of the big names, and they don’t come much bigger than Peter Crouch. Thanks to our pals at Puma, we recently sat down with one of the Premier League’s biggest characters to chat football boots. Check out what Crouchy had to say!

Peter Crouch has enjoyed a memorable debut season at Stoke City wearing his Puma PowerCat football boots. The long-time Puma athlete chatted everything boot-related from custom fitting to his team-mates ‘dodgy’ footwear!

''I’ve been with Puma for a while now and I love the gear, the clothes are great. Obviously the most important thing is the boots. I’m wearing the PowerCat’s at the moment and yeah I love them.''

Like many professional footballers, Crouch has his football boots custom fitted to his exact measurements. ‘’They take a mould of your foot and make the boot to specific measurements of your foot. (My feet) are size 12 to be honest. They’re probably 12 and a bit! I’ve obviously got big feet but it hasn’t held me back!’’

Crouch is one of the few strikers whose boot choice doesn’t fall within the ‘speed’ category. The Stoke hit-man, who formerly wore Puma’s v1 series has been wearing the PowerCat range for

a number of seasons now and feels the latest line of PowerCat 1.12 boots have been the best yet! ''I think the colors this season in the PowerCat and the style of the boot has suited me really.''

When it comes to colourways and bright football boots, Crouch doesn’t feel too much boot-envy towards some of his teammates footwear! ‘’Pennant has had a few dodgy boots shall we say!’’

Pennant and the other Stoke City players brave enough to turn up to training in an eye-popping pair of boots usually have Tony Pulis to explain to! ''He is quite old school in the fact that he doesn’t like his centre-halves wearing white boot or different colored boots.

He’ll certainly pick up on any defensive players wearing colored boots. He doesn’t mind the strikers or wingers wearing them but he’ll certainly pick up on it if you’re wearing multi-colored boots and you’re playing at the back!’’

Stay tuned to SoccerBible for more from Peter Crouch where he talks about his first season at Stoke City and that goal against Manchester City! Share your thoughts and join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Crouch is a great player such a good tuch for his size. Can't stand Tony Pulis and his style of play. Not being able to wear bright boots what an idiot.

I've got a pair of Peter's old boots. I'm not sure what model they are. They're all black with a subtle grey Puma  cat outline around the back of them.

The leather is as light and soft as I've ever seen and they have carbon fibre soles.

The only thing that is weird is that they are size 11.5. I'm a 12 and they fit me though.

Cool eh!
