Football News > Xavi Unleashes Predator LZ As Barcelona Defeated

The script was written. The world's greatest team would brush aside Chelsea to establish a comfortable lead ahead of the return leg at the Camp Nou. For adidas, it would be the perfect stage to shine the spotlight on their new adidas Predator LZ, with pass-master Xavi orchestrating Barcelona's attack in his new boots.

Amidst the theatrics, Xavi and his adidas Predator LZ football boots did conduct Barcelona's every move - as expected! The Spaniard made 134 passes as the Catalans enjoyed 72% possession. Dominance aside, it was the Londoners who found the back of the net to claim an unlikely victory.
Football would be boring if the best team always won!

The special edition pre-release adidas Predator LZ boots were hard to miss, contrasting to Barcelona's all-black strip. Despite Samir Nasri giving us our first glimpse of the Lethal Zone ''Drive'' boots at the weekend, Xavi was in action wearing the ''First Touch'' editions, highlighting the unique forefoot zone.

The adidas Predator LZ football boots are set to redefine the Predator name. The rubber zones on the forefoot of the adidas Predator LZ act as a cushioning platform with the aim of giving immediate ball control. It's one of five distinctive zones that combine to make this one of the most innovative and exciting football boots in the game!

SoccerBible will be bringing you the full reveal of adidas' Predator LZ on May 5, with exclusive imagery and video content! Let us know what you think of the boots and whether they'll be making a Champions League final appearance this season!

Xavi is amazing. Barca should have won it and had many more chances than Chelsea's one shot which just happened to be a goal. Messi should have scored and I have to respect Cech, he made some amazing saves. Everything said, Chelsea got lucky.

I wouldn't say Chelsea "got lucky", they took there opportunity better. Barcelona had 20 or so opportunities if they were truly the better team they would have put away at least two of those if not more.

Cant slag Chelsea off, they had a game plan and it worked. The only way to beat Barcelona, albeit first leg, was to defend very well, and attack on the counter. That was the only way they would win, and fair play to them it worked.

GREAT BOOTS BY THE WAY!

okay to all those chelsea haters out there, they *** won. barca missed all their chances. yes drogba was diving but he was just playing the way barca played.  chelsea have a very very good chance at advancing to the final. all they need is 1 away goal and i say they go through. yes barca is a very good team but then again la liga is no where near as competitive as the EPL.  In la liga you have the same 2 teams since 00-01 battling it out for the first spot.  in the EPL there are at least 6.

Barca just had a bad day at the office, and Chelsea took advantage of it. Altho im certain theyll put a few away at the home game and advance to the next stage. Chelsea did very well defensively. Everyone knows when u play barca, that your only gonna have a few chances and u gotta make em count and thats what they did

That is soccer my friends, if you can't finish you can't win, it is simple, yet that game Barca didn't seem to understand that.

chelseafc25, what do you mean "the way barca played"? i don't know about anyone else, but i don't see barca dive as much as a lot of people say, save one unfortunate clasico in particular. and no. in the EPL there are still two teams at the top that can't be caught up to. maybe six teams competing for the top four, but city and united are 13 points ahead of third place arsenal.

You can not say Chelsea defended well. To allow 24 shots on goal, twice hitting post, Cole off the line, Cech great saves is not good defending. Chelsea tactics were not good, but very risky.

@kevo forget about the diving cause yeah a lot of teams do it. and i know drogba is one of the leaders at it, but u do have lots of barca players that do it as well.  and throughout the season the leaders will eventually show themselves but at the start of the season in the EPL there could be 6 different tittle contenders (Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool (yes liverpool), and hell u could even throw in Newcastle) but in La LIga at the start of the year you KNOW either Barca or Real Madrid will win.  The EPL is a better league and a much more competitive league with the Siere A coming in 2nd.
