As expected at the recent star-studded FIFA Ballon d'Or Awards, Lionel Messi stole the show by taking home his third Ballon d'Or Award in as many years. Now it looks like Messi will not just steal the show on-pitch with his electrifying performances, but with his stunning new footwear as well.
Few players command the right to wear Gold football boots, but if anyone does, it''s Lionel Messi. This week Messi joined the upper echelons of football's elite, becoming only the fourth player to win a hat-trick of Ballon d'Or honours, and joining an illustrious trio of Michel Platini, Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten.
Record-breaker Leo Messi has had another spectacular year, adding his prestigious third Ballon d'Or to another five titles in 2011 with Barcelona, including the La Liga title, the Champions League, the Spanish Supercopa, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
