Football News > Balls to the Ready!

One important logistical task following the launch of the adidas Tango12 football is the delivery of training balls to the participating federations. In the past such issues as balls going missing, not enough training time with the balls and obviously some federations wanting to purchase additional training balls were raised; for EURO 2012 it is no different.

Adidas strives to improve on all levels and our service level commitment speaks for itself. For EURO 2012 each of the competing Federations will receive 30 training balls, UEFA and the Federations also agreed that each of the training balls will be personalized with a EURO 2012 inspired interpretation of the respective National Team’s flag.

Once printed and packaged the shipments are closely monitored using courier tracking systems to ensure they don’t disappear and are delivered to the right location agreed with each federation in advance.

This gives each of the federations 6 months to practice with the balls and for use in any of the warm-up fixtures prior to the kick-off in Warsaw in June 2012. Of course it makes sense for every federation to take as much time using the balls ahead of the tournament as it is clear that the look and feel of the ball – despite being based on the old favorite Tango design – might take time to get used to, as with all balls, for all tournaments.

Upon arrival at their training centers in Poland or the Ukraine in May of 2012, each Federation will receive a further shipment of 20 personalized training balls to cover any additional needs during the tournament, and of course, the balls can be purchased anywhere if more are required.

With the balls now officially on their way to the federations, time is ticking for each team to experience and master the Tango 12 ball, as the tournament kicks off on June 8th in Warsaw. Share your thoughts on both the adidas Tango 12 football and EURO 2012 online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
