Football News > Puma Boots Top UCL Group Stage Goal Chart

The concluding day of the UEFA Champions League group stage produced an exciting amount of goals and drama as the final teams confirmed their places in the next stage of football's biggest club competition. With goals firing in from all angles, this years group stage hasn't been shy of a goal or two!

Of all the boots to find the back of the net, PUMA have emerged from the group stage on top, claiming four of the top six places among this years current top UCL goal-scorers! With Mario Gomez leading the PUMA charge, a number of unexpected faces have found themselves amongst the goals. See who's leading PUMA's line this year.

Mario Gomez has already confirmed that to him, the Champions League Golden Boot isn't important. But with six goals already to his name, the Germany and Bayern Munich striker looks like the player to stop this season! After finding the net in the Group A win over Villarreal with his sixth strike of the tournament, Gomez eclipsed Barcelona's Lionel Messi as the top scorer - meaning the PUMA v1.11 sits top of the charts!

Frei sent Man United crashing scoring Basel's second.

Gomis netted four times in Lyons 7-1 win against Zagreb.

Alexander Frei's winner against Man United has seen him climb into the higher regions of the goal-scoring standings with an impressive five goal tally. The FC Basel 1983 striker and PUMA King wearer sent last seasons finalists crashing out as he headed home Basel's second goal of the night, taking him above Ibrahimovic and Karim Benzema.

Before last nights historic Champions League clash between Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb, Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis had one UCL goal to his name. Now after setting a new record for the fastest ever UCL hat-trick as part of his four goal haul in Lyons 7-1 demolition of Zagreb, the PUMA v1.11 wearer has shot up the leader board with five goals!

It was another drama-fuelled night in Milan as CSKA Moscow overcame 2010 champions Inter Milan 2-1 at the San Siro. Seydou Doumbia gave CSKA the lead in the 50th minute, taking his group stage goal-count to five, and helping his side progress as Group B runners-up after Lille and Trabzonspor played to a goalless draw.

PUMA are enjoying a successful 11/12 campaign as their impressive playing roster continues to deliver the goals across Europe! What brand will be claiming the Champions League Golden Boot this season? Can Mario Gomez continue this goal-scoring form through the the later stages? Share your thoughts online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
