Football News > Weekend Football Boots Spotting - 20/06/11

International action across the globe provided us with another exciting week of boot spotting! With Nike showing their cards for the start of the 11/12 season, it was no surprise to see their new arrivals out in force. Check out what players and boots have made it in this week. Share your thoughts with the SoccerBible community online, on Twitter and on Facebook

Lionel Messi (Argentina) adidas F50 adiZero Leather

Lionel Messi was back in action last night for Argentina wearing his Champions League winning adiZero football boots! Barcelona's number 10 was in action against Albania during a friendly match as Argentina prepare for the 2011 Copa America.

Javier Mascherano (Argentina) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

Another Barcelona player in action for Argentina. Javier Mascherano put in his first competitive display wearing the new black/white/red Nike CTR360 Maestri II football boots. He was joined by Carlos Tevez who found the back of the net wearing his new CTR boots as Argentina cruised to a 4-0 win.

Pablo Zabaleta (Argentina) Nike T90 Laser III

Another new Nike football boot on display last night during Argentina's friendly match was Pablo Zabaleta's Blue Dusk/Volt/Black T90 Laser III boots. The Manchester City player helped Argentina to a clean sheet wearing his stand out Nike shoes bespoke with an Argentina flag.

Kosuke Yamamoto (Japan U22) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

The first of what is sure to be many sightings of the new Black/White/Red Nike CTR360 Maestri II football boots. Japan's Kosuke Yamamoto joined the list this weekend as he took part in Japan's London Olympic Soccer Asian qualifier match against Kuwait.

Andy Williams (Real Salt Lake) adidas Predator adiPower

Real Salt Lake's Andy Williams became one of the first professional players to step out in the new White/Black/Blue adiPower Predator football boots this weekend as his side took on DC United. Williams' boots certainly had a fresh look about them as both sides shared the points with a 1-1 draw.

Ahmad Ali (Jordan) Mizuno Morelia Wave KR

An unusual but great looking Mizuno boot spot courtesy of Jordan's Ahmad Ali as his side took on South Korea. The bright green Mizuno Morelia Wave KR boots are a Korean exclusive Mizuno colourway that surprisingly haven't made their way across to European shores.

Mizuki Hamada (Japan U22) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Japanese defender Mizuki Hamada débuts his new Nike Tiempo Legend IV football boots during his sides second round London 2012 Olympic qualifying match against Kuwait. It was a good start for Hamada and his new boots, with the defender finding the back of the net in the first half.

Christian Eriksen (Denmark U21) Nike Mercurial Superfly III

It's hard to ignore Denmark's young prodigy at the moment. Christian Eriksen has consistently worn the new Mercurial Superfly III football boots for the past three weeks and was seen once again in the bright speed boots as Denmark took on Iceland in the U21 Euro Championships.

Danny Welbeck (England U21) Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite

Despite reverting back to his white/volt Nike Tiempo Legend III boots in England's last match, Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck took to the field in his unmissable Legend IV Elite boots when England played Ukraine on June 15.

Jean Alexandre (Real Salt Lake) adidas adiPURE IV SL

A recent adiPower convert from the adiPURE III, Real Salt Lake's Jean Alexandre was spotted wearing the white/black/gold adiPURE IV SL football boots as his side took on DC United in Utah.

Granit Xhaka (Switzerland U21) Puma v1.11 SL

Switzerland's young midfielder Granit Xhaka was spotted wearing his Puma v1.11 SL football boots as his side took on Belarus in the Euro U21 Championship. The former Nike Mercurial wearer was one of the first players to debut the new v1.11 and has since put in consistent performances wearing the ultra light speed boot.

Yusuke Higa (Japan U22) adidas Pathique X

Japan's Yusuke Higa spotted in an anniversary pair of gold/white adidas Pathique X football boots as Japan took on Kuwait in the London Olympic Asian qualifying match. The Japanese exclusive adidas Pathique X resemble the adiPURE range and use Micro-Fit tech to make them a super-light k-leather boot.

Victor Bernardez (Honduras) Nike Tiempo Legend III WC Elite

Victor Bernardez spotted in a pair of Nike Legend WC Elite football boots as his Honduras side took on Costa Rica in the Gold Cup Quarter-finals. Formerly an adidas player having worn both Predators and Copa Mundials, Bernardez has consecutively worn his WC Nike football boots since last summer's tournament.

Jong Hun Cha (Korea U17) Puma v1.06

An unusual boot choice for a goal-keeper, Jong Hun Cha of Korea was spotted wearing a pair of blue Puma v1.06 speed boots as his side took on Mexico in the U17 World Cup group match.

Genki Haraguchi (Japan U22) Nike Mercurial Vapor VII

The new Nike Vapor VII football boots made an appearance at the weekend thanks to Japan's Genki Haraguchi. The Japanese forward didn't waste any time in getting his hands on a pair of Nike's latest speed boots.

Mizunos are sexy, world cup tiempos are not my favorites (although i love the T90 and Superfly WC editions), the CTRs are better on pitch then in the photoshoot, the "granite" Superfly look better than the vapors, the Adidas Pathique X look sweet, I like blue adipowers more than the white ones, love the new tiempo elites but not the legends, the v1.11 look funny with the switzerland kit, and the v1.06 look amazing because how simple they are, and adipure SL which I don't like much.  I think this a very good boot spot.

                         A list of the boots.

1.Mizuno Morelia Wave in an exclusive color.

      2.Nike Tiempo III WC elite.

      3.Nike CTR360 Maestri II ( New colorway)

4.Nike Mercurial Superfly III (New Colorway)

5.Nike Mercurial Vapor VII (New colorway)

6.Adidas Pathique X (exclusive aniversary color)

      7.Adidas adipower ( A colorway with low up-take)

8.Tiempo Legend Elite IV (New boot)

      9.Tiempo Legend IV (New boot)

      10. Puma V1.11 SL (Newish boot)

      11. Puma v1.06 (Old boot)

      12. Adidas adipure SL ( not big uptake)
