sorry im going to have to agree that ronaldo is better than ronaldo, ronaldo can play in any team in any league and still preform. messi would not be the player he is with out xavi and iniesta running the show. as shown in his national team. you may say that ronaldo didnt preform either but his national side does not contain tevez, Mascherano, di María, Agüero.

@David10Messi10- Messi is just as good as cristiano but neither of them like to defend. I like messi alot but messi is not the best, hes overrated. Barcelona would still be good without messi. If you put an\yother winger there Xavi and iniesta would still make the right passes for goal scoring opportunities.

@david10messi10 it's so easy to punch a hole through your logic. Strictly my opinion but Ronaldo is better in more area then messi. The both don't defend but I can say Ronaldo does defend on corners and free kicks which is more then messi does. Ronaldo has free kicks where as messi can't take them. Ronaldo is great in the air and messi is sub par at best. Messi has to be in the 18 to shoot Ronaldo can rip one from 20 plus out and we've seen him do it (Porto). To me Ronaldo is stronger in much more areas than messi and it shows. Who care if he goes down easy, messi does too. And to be honest him going at 4 defenders at a time is pure shelfishness if he can't make it right? Messi also can't perform for Argentina, where as Ronaldo carries prortugal. Let's not forget Ronaldo performed this well in the hardest league in the world the EPL, I still say messi couldn't make it as well there unless he had iniesta, and xavi.

@david10messi10: i totally agree ronaldo is overrated and most of his goals are simple, boring, and overall unimpressive. Messi however, his goals are beautiful and unlike anyone elses in the world. Ronaldo is one dimensoinal and messi is a complete player.

Whenever there is a recognition of Messi or Cristiano always comes the controversy. but the truth even if it hurts someone is that Messi is better than Cristiano nowdays. is true that Cristiano has broken a record in goals in the Spanish league. The two are are totally different players but the fact that Messi is more destabilizing than Cristiano. And the fact that Messi has not managed to bring Argentina to glory and also Cristiano has Not been able to Portugal for a title so that none had help their national team to earn a title.
But the true also is Cristiano in the two years he has been in Real Madrid the title only game he helped madrid win Barca was the copa del rey in the other 7 matches for these two years match agaist Barca he has done way below Messi. While Messi has been much more and not just goals agaist madrid but in the collective game that has managed to win 4 / 7 draw 2 and lost only one match in last year and this year against Real Madrid.

@ everyone that disagreed with me, messi does deffinitly run back to defend, and ok well thats because of his physical attributes, it isnt his fault that he's short and not as strong and yeah he does fall easy because of that, but he tries to stay up unlike ronaldo that they just barely touch him and he acts like he's dying. and barcelona would not be the same without messi, cause messi can act as a 5th mid sometimes and gives awesome passes. and ronaldo can only do what he does, because he has people like Ozil, Xavi alonso, di maria, Kaka. and yeah messi has Xavi and Iniesta, but i bet he could do the same on any other team, and yes he didnt do that good in the world cup, but neither did ronaldo so that can be a point at all...Messi is one of a kind
