What a year 2010 has been for speed football boots! We've seen the awesome adidas F50 adizero take the World Cup by storm, the Nike Vapor Superfly II released in outrageous colourways, and the Puma v1.10 SL become the lightest ever production football boot, but which boot is your winner in our Boot of the Year Speed category.
Here are the Speed Nominations featuring football boots released in the 2010 calendar year:

The adidas F50 adizero football boots, are the company's lightest and fastest football boot to date. The synthetic upper version is a super-slim 165g, making this not only adidas' most revolutionary football boot, but in doing so taking the adidas F50 range to new performance heights. We've seen a host of loyal Vapor wearers, including Nani, Robinho and Dani Alves switch into adizero, and it's popularity shows no signs of decreasing.

The Mercurial Vapor Superfly II is a lightweight boot featuring a new, unique adaptive traction system designed for explosive acceleration. Combined with a redesigned boot upper, featuring enhanced touch properties, Flywire technology and visual stimulation. These football boots are worn by Cristiano Ronaldo, and an army of loyal Nike Mercurial fans.

The Puma v1.10 SL football boots are officially the lightest boot on the market at just 150 grams. The upper is made from a superlight microfibre synthetic material, which is extremely soft for comfort and ball feel, with a revolutionary outsole and heel counter. Surprisingly, the v1.10 SL hasn't seen a huge player uptake, although they can boast Samuel Eto'o as a key wearer.

The v1 range is one of the mainstays of the speed category, and can boast a host of previous incarnations. The v1.10 versions feature a new lace-cover creating a large and clean striking surface, combined with the redesigned toe area all engineered using a lightweight microfibre synthetic with a unique coating. To be honest the Puma v1.10 football boots, have been more popular with the players than their Super Light counterpart.

Arguably the most radical boots in the speed catergory, the Lotto Zhero Gravity Ultra's are the only laceless boot available on the market. Their microfibre upper moulds to your feet, and offer an exceptional feel for the ball. By removing the laces, Lotto have created the cleanest and purest striking surface available on a football boot. But have they been a popular concept with speed boot fans.
So there you have the nominations for our Speed Football Boot of the Year 2010. We're sure there's plenty of opinions on the boots nominated, it's a tough one to call but we think we've selected the top five most popular speed boots for 2010.
