The best players in the world are preparing to descend upon the greatest tournament in football. The football boots they choose need to be the best in the world, so they can perform and impress on football's biggest stage. Here SoccerBible show's you what some of the best footballers on the planet will be wearing at the 2010 World Cup...

Kaka (Brazil) adidas adiPure III WC
Fernando Torres (Spain)
Nike T90 Laser III Elite
On closer inspection, we can't quite figure out if Kaka is wearing an adiZero sole-plate on his adiPures, or an adiZero boot designed to look like an adiPure?
Good to see Fernando Torres back training, and it looks like the global star could be wearing leather Elites if you look at the stitching around the toe area.

Lionel Messi (Argentina)
adidas F50 adiZero
Nicolas Anelka (France)
Puma v1.10 Tricks
Messi looks like he's getting to grips with his new bespoke football boots, and they certainly look impressive on pitch.
Usain Bolt showed the Puma Tricks range to the world at a recent track event, and Anelka has followed suit by debuting his v1.10 Tricks football boots.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) Nike Vapor Superfly II
Keisuke Honda (Japan)
Mizuno Wave Ignitus
For some reason Cristiano Ronaldo has stuck with his original Superfly II football boots, and it even looks as if he is wearing the NikeSense stud versions.
Looks like Honda has just struck a ball off the 'Mukaiten' panel on his Wave Ignitus football boots, so goalkeepers beware!

Steven Gerrard (England)
adidas Predator X WC
Chris Wood (New Zealand)
Umbro Stealth Pro
We were amazed to see Gerrard wearing the World Cup edition Predators, as he usually never changes his football boots for new colourways.
These silver Stealth Pro football boots look great with the all white New Zealand kit, and we also thought it was great they were playing with the Nike RED ball.

Wayne Rooney (England) Nike T90 Laser III Elite
Pepe Reina (Spain)
Uhlsport Sudafrika
The Nike Laser has served Rooney well this season, so he will be hoping to impress at the World Cup wearing the Elite versions.
Reina is showing us how good the Uhlsport Fangmaschine Sudafrika gloves look, with their striking yellow palm. We also noticed Reina is sporting a nice pair of red Joma football boots.
| |
Peter Crouch (England) Puma PowerCat 1.10 Tricks
Xabi Alonso (Spain)
adidas adiPure III WC
Crouch has switched from being a Puma v1 player to wearing the new Puma PowerCat football boots, and we love how the cat looks on these Tricks editions.
The adidas World Cup range of football boots are more subtle than the Nike Elite range, but when viewed from the back the yellow on the adiPure's really catches the eye.

Sergio Ramos (Spain)
Nike T90 Laser III Elite
Glen Johnson (England)
Lotto Zhero Leggenda
Sergio Ramos is another player we've noticed with stitching on the fore of his Elite Laser, so we're wandering whether Nike have added stitching to a Teijin upper or coloured up some leathers.
Lotto will probably have the smallest showing at the World Cup, but if Johnson can keep performing as he did for England against Mexico, then Lotto can look forward to some great press.

Carlos Tevez (Argentina) Nike CTR360 Maestri Elite
Franck Ribery (France)
Nike Vapor Superfly II Elite
Tevez has stubbornly stuck with his Tiempo Legend I football boots all season, so we were surprised that when he did finally decide to change, he changed silo and is now wearing the Elite CTR360's.
We haven't actually seen as many Superfly II Elite wearers as expected, surprising really as they are probably the most technologically advanced football boot ever!
| |
Thierry Henry (France)
Reebok Instante Pro
David Villa (Spain) adidas F50 adiZero
To many Reebok may seem like an odd brand choice for Henry, but they clearly work for him as a comfortable performance boot, and this white/gold/black colourway actually looks quite classy on pitch.
Barcelona fans will no doubt be drooling over the performances of their latest signing, and the combination of David Villa and the lightweight adiZero's is certainly an exciting prospect.
