A selection of players and football boots that caught the eye during the week's league and cup football. Our keen boot spotters found some brand new football boots on show, players changing their boots and some players who prefer to wear their old football boots...

SERGIO AGUERO
Nike Mercurial Superfly football boots
Atletico Madrid's Argentinian forward Sergio Aguero was one of the original key converts to the CTR360 range, but we reckon he is the biggest profile star so far to sport the White/Pink Flash Nike Mercurial Superfly cleats.
Whilst not the first to wear the boots, Aguero was spotted with new boots during their King's Cup football match against
Celta de Vigo last night.

MAXI RODRIGUEZ
adidas adiPure III football boots
New Liverpool signing Maxi Rodriguez made his Anfield debut wearing the new white/gold adiPure III football boots, which looked classy and worked well with his sock tape.

GAEL CLICHY
Umbro SX Flare football boots
One of the most bizarre boot choices of the evening was Gael Clichy in an old pair of Umbro SX Flare football boots. There's no doubting Clichy is an excellent player, and we were intrigued with his footwear which also used to be a particular favourite of Chelsea's Deco.

JAMES MILNER
Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots
There are a host of players who have switched into Nike CTR360 football boots this season, who are enjoying a great run of form. James Milner has been playing across the midfield with devastating affect, and has stepped up to lead the team after Gareth Barry's departure.

BACARY SAGNA
Puma v-Konstrukt III football boots
When you think pacy attacking full-back, you don't necessarily think of Puma v-Konstrukt football boots. But they are the boot choice of French international Sagna and have been for a while, which just proves that boot choice is an individual thing.

ASHLEY YOUNG
adidas F50i football boots
Ashley Young looked like a bit of a montage of colours wearing his macaw green adidas F50i football boots. But the great thing about these football boots which must be frustrating for the opposition, is how well they match the grass of the pitch, making it harder to follow his footwork.

|
ABOU DIABY
Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots
Abou Diaby is quite stubborn about his footwear, he has been happy to wear his marina Vapor IV football boots for some time now, and has not been tempted by new colourways or the Vapor V range. But perhaps he has been speaking to colleagues Cesc Fabregas and Denilson, because he surprised everyone by wearing the much talked about Nike CTR360 football boots!

COLE SKUSE
Pantofola d'Oro football boots
A random boot spotting from the FA Cup, but we had to include Cole Skuse because it was the first time we've seen a professional player in England wearing Pantofola d'Oro football boots. Playing for Bristol City it looks as though Skuse was wearing the Lazzarini boots, as you can tell from the sole-plate and lack of markings on the upper.

|
STEPHEN WARNOCK
Umbro Speciali football boots
Whilst the rest of the players in the Premier League are wearing the new Umbro Speciali football boots and raving about how comfortable they are, Stephen Warnock is sticking with his older versions he has worn for a couple of seasons. The Speciali is a classic, and this just proves that despite it not being brand new it can still perform at the highest level.

|
MARTIN OLSSON
Puma v1.10 football boots
The yellow Puma v1.10 football boots really stand-out on the pitch, but this is understandable as they are a speed boot. And Olsson had a good game getting up and down the left flank, and even scored a spectacular scissor kick.

NIKOLA KALINIC
adidas adiPure II football boots
For some reason there are a lot of pro players who have yet to adopt the adiPure III football boots, but after scoring two goals we can understand why Kalinic would be happy to keep his adiPure II boots. Kalinic had given Blackburn a great start and a great chance to reach the final, but unfortunately it wasn't to be.

JAVIER MASCHERANO
Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots
Mascherano joined a number of players this week by wearing the brand new white/silver/blue CTR360 colourway, which was only unveiled this weekend. A great looking colourway, and probably the most flash of all the three released so far. The CTR's are ideal for midfielders as they are designed for complete ball control.
