A selection of players and football boots that caught the eye during the weekend's Premier League football. Our keen boot spotters found some brand new football boots on show, players changing their boots and some players who prefer to wear their old football boots...

WAYNE ROONEY
Nike T90 Laser II football boots
Rooney showed his support for the Nike RED campaign, by wearing some red laces with his Nike Laser football boots, and although they may not stand-out as much as Vapors, the red laces really go well with the silver/red/black colourway.

THOMAS SORENSON
Nike Mercurial Vapor football boots
Stoke goalkeeper Sorenson wore the most intriguing football boots this weekend. They are clearly a pair of Nike Mercurial football boots, but they're not a new or an old colourway and with the yellow flashes we wandered if they are pair of Nike iD football boots.

RICHARD DUNNE
Puma King XL football boots
Dunne has switched into Puma King football boots after previously wearing Nike Lasers, and opts for the traditional black/white colourway. Dunne capped an excellent performance for Villa with a great goal, that he smashed home from just inside the area.

NENAD MILIJAS
Nike Tiempo Legend II football boots
Strike of the weekend came from Wolves midfielder Nenad Milijas, who struck an absolute rocket from 30 yards from Nike Legend II football boots. Milijas is obviously both a quality and popular player as the number 20 was mobbed by his team-mates after scoring. Perhaps if Milijas was to start more regularly he could gel the team and bring some consistency and leadership to the team.

JERMAIN DEFOE
adidas F50i football boots
Most F50 players are now wearing the macaw green colourway, and this should also be the case with Jermain Defoe. But after he struck five goals wearing the sliver/red colourway he seems reluctant to give them up, but although he scored against Everton perhaps he may be tempted to change after missing an injury time penalty.

CHRISTIAN BENITEZ
adidas adiPure II football boots
For some reason Benitez decided to wear the white/cardinal adiPure II football boots after previously wearing the black/golds. And the Ecuadorian stiker was on the goal sheet for only the second time this season, but if Birmingham are to remain safe they will need Benitez to hit the back of the net more regularly.

TOM HUDDLESTONE
Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots
An interesting boot change from Tom Huddlestone, saw the Spurs midfielder begin the game against Everton wearing Nike Laser football boots before switching into Nike CTR360 football boots. Our guess would be Huddlestone changed due to the playing conditions, because the Laser boots he started in were firm ground and his CTR's were soft ground.
