The Football League Show

The Championship teams get a break due to the international weekend, so the focus is very much on League One and Two. MK Dons have appointed Karl Robinson as full-time coach after Paul Ince left the club at the end of last season, and they face Hartlepool in one of the games of the day in League One. Elsewhere, Southampton host Rochdale at St Mary's, while further along the south coast, Peter Reid's Plymouth entertain Brighton. Presented by Manish Bhasin.

World Cup's Shocking Moments 2010

Richard Bacon is assisted by David Seaman as he takes a hilarious look back at the 50 greatest shocks from South Africa 2010 - from Rob Green's blunder against the USA to the French team going on strike; from Uruguay cheating Ghana out of a place in the semi-final to Frank Lampard's infamous 'goal that never was'. There are also the brilliant moments that may have slipped under the radar - Fabio Capello daring to bully Stuart Pearce, Emmanuel Eboue speaking Korean and the madness of Maradona.

Football News > Football Boots - Premier League Head-to-Heads - 20/11/09

Here are the winners from this weekend's Premier League head-to-heads. At the SoccerBible we picked our key head-to-head battles, and now we know the players who came out on top...

Gerrard (Liverpool) v Barry (Man City) Winner:

STEVEN GERRARD

adidas Predator X football boots

Gerrard had a lively performance and was motoring up and down the Anfield pitch trying to inspire his team mates. He swung in a great ball from his adidas Predator X boots, setting up Skrtel to poke the ball home.

Rooney (Man Utd) v Fellaini (Everton) Winner:

WAYNE ROONEY

Nike T90 Laser II football boots

Wayne Rooney once again failed to score against his old side, but his movement and workrate were a constant threat to Everton. Wearing the T90 Laser football boots, Rooney was keen to be involved with any United attack.

Bent (Sunderland) v Eduardo (Arsenal) Winner:

DARREN BENT

Umbro Speciali football boots

Arsenal boss Wenger has cursed his team's inability to find the back of the net, which doesn't seem to be a problem for Darren Bent. The Umbro Speciali player has now scored goals and impressed against Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal this season.

Hunt (Hull) v Diamanti (West Ham) Winner:

STEPHEN HUNT

Puma King XL football boots

As Diamanti didn't play, there can only be one winner from this head-to-head contest. Although Hunt wasn't at his best, wearing Puma King football boots he did supply the ball for Zayatte to score Hull's equalising second goal.

We've picked the key on-field battles from the weekend's Premier League fixtures. The winners of these head-to-head battles will be influential on their team recording a victory, but who do YOU think will be the winners?!

Saturday 21st November August
12:45 - Liverpool v Manchester City
This head-to-head battle is between two players who could easily have been team mates. Both are crucial players for their team, and the player who can assert himself on the game the most will be playing for the team that comes out on top...

STEVEN GERRARD

adidas Predator X football boots

The Liverpool captain has declared himself fit to face Manchester City, and Gerrard will need to be at his inspirational best to lift the players and fans at Anfield. This game will be Gerrard's second outing wearing the adidas Predator X football boots, and his stats are currently played one, scored one!

GARETH BARRY

adidas adiPure II football boots

Gareth Barry could so easily be wearing a Liverpool shirt to face Manchester City, but instead it was City who were prepared to part with the cash for the hard-working midfielder. Over the past few seasons Barry has demonstrated what a consistent and quality midfielder he is, like many adiPure wearers, and he will surely be keen to show the Kop what they are missing.

Saturday 21st November
17:30 - Manchester United v Everton
Manchester United at home to Everton has every chance of turning into a physical battle, so both sides will need their big players to step up. Fellaini can be a thorn in any teams side, but it won't be easy to push Wayne Rooney of the ball and the United forward possesses that extra bit of quality...

WAYNE ROONEY

Nike T90 Laser II football boots

Many years ago whilst playing for Everton, Wayne Rooney wore a t-shirt stating "Once a blue, always a blue". Now he's playing at Manchester United, it will be interesting to see if he can inflict damage on the team languishing in 12th position in the table. Rooney has been in good form this season wearing Nike T90 Laser football boots, and has fully emerged from the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo.

MAROUANE FELLAINI

Nike Tiempo Legend football boots

Fellaini is an absolute giant on the pitch, and all he needs to perform is a comfortable pair of football boots made with a soft kangaroo leather - the reason he chooses the Tiempo Legend boots. Fellaini will be looking to break up any United attacks, hopefully win some free-kicks, whilst he has also been known to pop-up in the area and score the odd goal.

Saturday 21st November
15:00 - Sunderland v Arsenal
This could turn into a very open game as both teams will be looking for the victory, so how clinical the strikers are will prove crucial to the result. Both players have a bit of pace about them and look to pounce on any opportunities, the player who can exploit the opposition defence the most is likely to come out on top in this battle...

DARREN BENT

Umbro Speciali football boots

Bent told us not to judge him on his international form, as he attempts to win a place in the national side?! So all eyes will be on how he performs for Sunderland, and Arsenal should prove to be testing opposition. Bent has had a successful season, and has been championing the new Umbro Speciali football boots.

EDUARDO

Nike Vapor V football boots

Arsenal have a staggering injury list, with no less than eleven members of the first team out injured! Therefore, responsibility will fall on the shoulders of Eduardo to lead the Arsenal attack, and he has proven he is more than capable. Eduardo has a fantastic goalscoring record, and now the forward is fully fit and up to speed wearing Vapor V football boots, the Sunderland defence will need to be at their sharpest.

Saturday 21st November
15:00 - Hull City v West Ham
The winner of this battle will depend on who wants the victory more. Italian players are notoriously passionate if they want it, and you can be sure Hunt will be fired up after the disappointment of the World Cup qualifiers. If these players can affect the game and their team mates, then their team may win this relegation six-pointer...

STEPHEN HUNT

Puma King XL football boots

No doubt Stephen Hunt will be fired up for this match, to put the misery of the France v Ireland World Cup qualifier behind him. Hull boss Phil Brown has suggested Hunt go and see a counsellor, but surely what the attacking midfielder needs is a great performance. Hunt is a bit of an all round player, who wears Puma King football boots, and his Hull side will need him focused on this relegation battle.

ALESSANDRO DIAMANTI

Nike CTR369 Maestri football boots

Diamanti has proven himself to be an enigmatic character, much like fellow Italian and Hammers hero Paolo Di Canio. But consistency is what the fans need the moment, as West Ham look to lift themselves out of the relegation zone. Diamanti has recently switched to the Nike CTR360 football boots like a lot of players, and he will hope the boots have the same effect and raise his game.
