The Football League Show

The Championship teams get a break due to the international weekend, so the focus is very much on League One and Two. MK Dons have appointed Karl Robinson as full-time coach after Paul Ince left the club at the end of last season, and they face Hartlepool in one of the games of the day in League One. Elsewhere, Southampton host Rochdale at St Mary's, while further along the south coast, Peter Reid's Plymouth entertain Brighton. Presented by Manish Bhasin.

World Cup's Shocking Moments 2010

Richard Bacon is assisted by David Seaman as he takes a hilarious look back at the 50 greatest shocks from South Africa 2010 - from Rob Green's blunder against the USA to the French team going on strike; from Uruguay cheating Ghana out of a place in the semi-final to Frank Lampard's infamous 'goal that never was'. There are also the brilliant moments that may have slipped under the radar - Fabio Capello daring to bully Stuart Pearce, Emmanuel Eboue speaking Korean and the madness of Maradona.

Football News > Football Stats - Premier League Top Scoring Boots - 10/11/09

Players wearing Nike T90 Laser II football boots have been hitting the back of the net more frequently in the Premier League, to close the gap on the adidas Predator wearers who lead the way!

Our exclusive SoccerBible statistics generate boot stats throughout the Premier League season, so we can keep up to date with how different boots are performing. This season, there have been at least twenty-three different football boots that have scored in the Premier League, but which boots are the most lethal in front of goal?

The adidas Predator football boots are the current top scorers, with wearers contributing 67 goals, edging out the Nike Laser football boots on 56 goals. However, as you can see adidas football boots are coming under pressure from Nike, with all five of their

boots making up the top seven scoring football boots in the Premier League.

It's interesting to see two Power football boots at the top of the scoring charts. As the adidas Predator and Nike Laser have technology designed specifically to increase shot power, swerve and accuracy, which must prove the technology does assist your performance!

And players benefiting from innovative boot technology include Fernando Torres, top goalscorer in the Premier League on 10 goals, Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha all from Nike T90 Laser II football boots. Whilst players enjoying adidas Predator engineering include Robin Van Persie, Thomas Vermaelen and Dimitar Berbatov.

Of course, the mission for both the adidas Predator and the Nike Laser football boots is to topple the Nike Vapor, which has claimed top spot for the last few seasons thanks to such players as Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba. But can they do it?

Be sure to stay tuned to the SoccerBible's statistics page, as we assess throughout the season how different football boots and players are performing, plus finding out which brands are winning in the goalscoring charts...

AND DON'T FORGET TO TELL US WHICH FOOTBALL BOOTS YOU THINK WILL END UP TOP OF THE SCORING CHARTS, AND WHICH BOOTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE AT THE TOP?

I know the Superfly and Vapor are not the same boot but they practically are so if you add those two scores together the top scoring boot would be those combined. I say this because before the Superfly came out last season all those people who wear it now I presume wore the Vapors.

Amazing the CTR360 has got so many goals its only been out a month or so.

Also remeber that Nike have got so many in their rang this year that is why the scores are not pinned to just one boot.

perry groves, it is good that the superflys and vapors are different because it proves that Nike have made a boot that costs over £200 and loads of pros prefer vapors. And also, they are VERY different
