Football News > Football Boots - Premier League Head to Heads - The Winners!

It was another interesting weekend of Premier League football, which reminded us why people call it the best league in the world! And in our head-to-head battles, there were some key performances from the players to win the match for their team...

Murphy (Fulham) v Van Persie (Arsenal) Winner:

Van Persie changed into his Confederation Predator football boots, and rediscovered his goalscoring form. Netting the only goal in this close encounter, it was a superb goal from Robin Van Persie, but his Arsenal side were indebted to keeper Vito Mannone for keeping them in the game.

Kaboul (Portsmouth) v Saha (Everton) Winner:

Tim Howard has called Louis Saha Everton's Fernando Torres, which may be going a bit far, although there is no denying the Frenchman is on fire at the moment. Saha won his head-to-head battle as he took advantage of Younes Kaboul's missed header and finished clinically.

Crouch (Tottenham) v Nugent (Burnley) Winner:

We had hoped Crouch would wear the new Puma v1.10 football boots, but if you had scored a midweek hat-trick would you change your boots? So understandably Peter Crouch remained in his v1.08's, but he had to wait for his opportunity starting the game on the bench, but he reminded Spurs fans how dangerous he is by setting up Keane in the final minutes.

Tuncay (Stoke) v Rooney (Man Utd) Winner:

Even when Rooney isn't scoring he is still dangerous to the opposition, and his work-rate and effort deserved a goal. In the end, Wayne Rooney's frustration at the lack of service he was receiving up front resorted to him beating the ground with his fists! You can never doubt his passion for the game.

The SoccerBible has again selected the players who hold the key to their team's success this weekend, how these players perform could determine whether their team wins or loses! We want to know who YOU think will win this weekend's Premier League head-to-head battles?

Saturday 26th September
17:30 GMT - Fulham v Arsenal
Last season Fulham took four points off Arsenal, with the Gunners even failing to find the back of the net in those two clashes. But with both Andrei Arshavin and Robin Van Persie expected to return, Arsenal will be confident of beating a formidable Fulham defence.

Murphy's career has really flourished at Fulham, he is a solid central midfielder who chooses to wear the strong Under Armour dominate boots. If Danny Murphy can take hold of the ball in the middle of the park, then he has the playmaking abilities to give Fulham's stuttering season a boost.

Fulham's defence proved resilient last season, but Van Persie can produce a little bit of magic from his Predator football boots to unlock any defence. The Dutch forward will return to the Arsenal front line, after not featuring mid-week, itching to score after only notching once in the Premier League this season.

Saturday 26th September
12:45 GMT - Portsmouth vs Everton
Portsmouth boss Paul Hart is confident his hastily-assembled squad will turn promise into positive results, as his Pompey side look to score their first points. Everton are in a rich vein of form, after romping to three successes victories scoring 11 goals in the process, without seeing their own defence breached.

Portsmouth have been leaking goals at the back, and coming up against Everton they face a team who have recently rediscovered where the goal is. Defender Younes Kaboul, who interestingly wears Superfly football boots, will have a key role to play keeping Everton at bay so his team-mates can build an attack.

If he stays injury free Saha can be a lethal player, as emphasised with his two goals against Blackburn in Everton's last Premier League outing. Like a lot of top strikers Louis Saha wears the Nike T90 Laser football boots, so he will be keeping the defenders busy with a host of quick fire shots.

Saturday 26th September
15:00 GMT - Tottenham vs Burnley
Tottenham Hotspur's early season momentum has been dented by match-ups against Manchester United and Chelsea, but they will see Burnley as a more winnable game. These two clubs met in the Carling Cup last season; with ten goals scored over two legs we can expect an exciting game.

Fresh from a midweek hat-trick Crouch will be looking to add to his goal tally at home to Burnley. And we'll be keeping a keen eye on Peter to see if he retains his place in the starting line-up as he should do, and whether he wears the brand new Puma v1.10 football boots!

adidas Predator CL football boots

Two goals last weekend proved that Burnley may have signed a player key to their Premier League survival. And With three victories already under their belt, Burnley will travel to Tottenham hoping to get a result. David Nugent could therefore be the man to take advantage of a depleted Spurs defence.

Sunday 26th September
15:00 GMT - Stoke City vs Manchester United
A late goal saw Manchester United take the spoils in last term's corresponding fixture, and this time around the encounter promises again to be a tricky affair for the champions. But Stoke will be hoping after a successful season in the Premier League this time round they can pose more of a threat.

adidas F50i TUNiT football boots

Tuncay is a workhorse who gives his all to the team, add to that some skill and a touch of class, and he could be the player to cause United problems. It's a tough ask for Stoke, but you have to remember they did almost get a result against Chelsea.

Nike T90 Laser II football boots

Rooney has been on fire for United with six goals in six games, there is no doubting he is the danger man for United. Wearing Nike Laser football boots, Wayne Rooney will be leading the forward line and you wouldn't bet against him scoring.
