Football News > Premier League Ball - Nike Total 90 Ascente Football - 01/07/09

This is the new Premier League, Serie A and Primera Division football - the new Nike Total 90 Ascente football. In development for over two years, Nike have created a ball that will pierce through the air, to be more powerful and accurate.

The Nike Total 90 Ascente football is ready for the new season, and features different colour schemes for the respective leagues it will be used in. Although, the ball is available ahead of season kick-off, as it can currently be pre-ordered ahead of a 1st August release, and will cost around £85 GBP.

The surface of the new Nike Total 90 Ascente football has a micro-textured design (see above), which allows the ball to carve through the air much like a golf ball. The design equalises airflow over the balls surface, meaning the Ascente ball is more accurate for both passing and shooting.

Nike Total 90 Ascente Football technology

SEEK CONTROL
"The surface texture combined with three-layer premium construction delivers unprecedented ball-control and airflow optimisation. The result is hot-placement like never before."

PRECISION SIGHT
"Tested and evolved to new depth, the performance graphic is designed to catch your periphery and engage your central vision quickly, even from across the pitch."

360 SWEET SPOT
"Energy transfers evenly through the panels from the point of contact for a consistent touch no matter where its hit. Engineered to be the game's perfect sphere, the Total 90 Ascente responds with confidence and power."

Dang that ball looks so ugly.

Looks like it just dropped fresh out of some sci-fi movie.

But performance + technology has gotten way better so can't complain.

That ball with last year's design would be hectic :)
