We've had our first Nike Vapor Abyss wearer hitting the headlines, as Shakhtar Donetsk beat Werder Bremen in the last ever UEFA Cup final.
Shakhtar Donetsk became the last team to win the UEFA Cup, before it turns into the Europa League next season, as they recorded a 2-1 extra-time victory over Werder Bremen in Istanbul.
Shakhtar's forward Luiz Adriano put the Ukrainian side in front after 25 minutes, latching onto a loose ball to delicately chip the ball into the back of the net. But this lead was undone by a Naldo free-kick on 35 minutes, the Werder player stepping up to hammer his free-kick through the hands of the Shakhtar goalkeeper. The scores remained the same as the game went into extra-time, when Shakhtar hit their winner through Jadson, hitting a first time effort from 12 yards in the 97th minute.

LUIZ ADRIANO

Luiz Adriano's goal was a perfect demonstration of what the Nike Vapor V football boots offer. We could see he was wearing a firm ground sole plate, which has a unique stud configuration to increase traction. This helped the forward player break free of the Werder Bremen defence before chipping the ball off the lace cover over the oncoming goalkeeper.

NALDO
Nike Legend II football boots
Naldo has worn Nike Legend football boots for some time now, so the soft kangaroo leather will have formed a comfortable fit to the players foot. Running up to strike the ball, Naldo will have been confident in the power and direction he intended to hit the ball being delivered through his boots. This proved the case as the ball he hit was too hot for Shakhtar's keeper to handle!

JADSON

Jadson hit the winning goal by connecting to an excellent low cross driven into the area. The adidas adiPure II football boots Jadson was playing in feature a dampened instep, which enabled the Brazilian to make a clean connection with the ball to cushion and direct it beyond the Werder keeper.
