Who's faster...Cristiano Ronaldo, Usain Bolt or Asafa Powell? After Ronaldo was clocked running 50 metres in a blistering 5.7 seconds wearing Nike Mercurial Superfly football boots, we decided to pit the flying forward against the world's fastest men, but who do you think is the quickest!

Doubling Cristiano Ronaldo's time, recorded during Manchester United's Champions League semi-final, gives us a 100 metre time of 11.4 seconds. Breath-taking speed during a match, but how would he fair against sprinters Bolt and Powell?

Well, we've already seen Asafa Powell run 100m on grass wearing the Nike Mercurial SL football boots (click here to see) recording a time of 9.94 seconds. Unfortunately we've yet to see Puma wearer Usain Bolt, but we'd imagine he'd wear Puma's ultimate speed boots the v1.815, and when you consider he is the current world record holder with 9.69 seconds its gonna be fast!

Of course, there are a few other contenders to consider such as Theo Walcott and Gabby Agbonlahor, so...

doubling the 50m time doesn't make sense, u have to account for acceleration. 11.4 seconds would have been good enough for last place in the women's 100m, and though I don't think ronaldo's that fast he's certainly not that slow.

For reference, Bolt's time at 50m in his 9.69 run was 5.5 s. So, ronaldo's run equates to something much faster. However, as a track enthusiast, I'd suspect that he had a slight running start, because there's no way he can run sub 10.

what debrid said is right.

u also have to factor the clothes, the track wearers wear the most aerodynamic suits there is to be fast while ronaldo is wearing his full kit.

I say if Ronaldo and Bolt wore the same clothes and the Superfly's Ronaldo could get pretty damn close!!

I agree, Walcott is the fastest, especially with the ball. Even Kieran Gibbs was able to outrun Ronaldo

Im not saying Ronaldo cant play, i think he is one of the most creative players, but theo can play too, not as well, but still  he's a good winger. but there is no question walcott is faster. but that 40 yard shot was amazing, i dont think any other player can do that with such accuracy and power

Um, sorry just realised my post was too vague. Basically, if anyone here owns, or knows someone who owns the SL, what are your thoughts on it? Is it worth it? Comfortable? Durable? Yeah stuff like that. Thanks once again :)

i dont think that was the case...it beacuse ronaldo is the football player not a runner

cronaldo9kaka8 said:

I agree with hamsanyz, its trying to put a football player who yea works on speed somewhat, but also works on shots and tricks and passing, going up a full time runner that only concentrates on running and that's it. You really can't compare the two.
