PATO OR AGUERO?

- Alexandre Pato has opened the door to a £40million transfer from Milan, by asking for permission to speak with Chelsea.

 

- Although Chelsea are undecided, because the £40million had originally been set aside for Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero.

 

 

MASCHERANO SHOCK?

- Javier Mascherano has stunned Liverpool by saying he wants to join European Champions Barcelona, stating it would be impossible to turn an offer down.

 

- And Rafael Benitez's situation gets worse, because midfielder Xabi Alonso is also seeking a move after being touted around Europe for the second consecutive summer, before Gareth Barry moved to Manchester City.

 

 

REAL PERSISTANT OVER RONALDO?

- Real Madrid president Floretino Perez says he will "do everything possible" to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, after completing the World record transfer of Kaka from AC Milan.

 

- Madrid have also pulled out of the race for Wigan winger Antonio Valencia, leaving United to sort out a fee and personal terms to secure their long-term target. 

 

 

SPURS AFTER ATTACKING PLAYER?

- Tottenham have lined up Atletico Madrid's Maxi Rodriguez and Galatasaray midfielder Arda Turan as attacking and creative additions to their squad.

- Redknapp is also looking to hijack West Ham's move for Inter Milan forward player Luis Jimenez with a £10million bid for the Chilean international.
