Football Shirts > PUMA & Borussia Dortmund Launch 2012-13 Football Kits

At an extravagent event, PUMA and Borussia Dortmund have launched the new Home and Away kits for the 2012/13 season. The first BVB kit made by PUMA was revealed to hundreds of fans at an Open Air party on the Alten Markt court in the city centre of Dortmund.

Members of the Dortmund first team looked on as the shirt was presented through a live graffiti act, sprayed onto a five meter high model to gradually unveil the new design. The new BVB Shirts feature the iconic club colours yellow and black in a striking and classic design that distinguishes the official licensed BVB team replica from other club kits.

Borussia Dortmund's new star signing, goalscorer at Euro 2012 and PUMA PowerCat wearer, Marco Reus commented, “PUMA is a great brand and this new kit really exceeds my expectation in terms of design and comfort. I can’t wait to walk out onto the pitch in this new kit for the first time and start BVBs defense of the Bundesliga Championship.”

The first BVB Home Shirt designed and produced by PUMA incorporates the tradition and heritage of the Dortmund club. Both the iconic yellow and black colours run through the replica shirts for both the home and away replica for the 2012-13 season.

Besides the PUMA Cat embroidery, the sponsors logo and the official BVB woven club badge, the shirt features for the first time in the clubs history a second star, which they recently gained following their fifth championship victory in the German Bundesliga.

The flat knit rib collar with contrast tipping and a tonal buttonless placket add a retro styling to this modern design. As an extra twist, the shirts feature the BVB slogan “Echte Liebe” (German for ‘True Love’), which symbolises the club and the brand’s passion for Football.

The shirt belongs to PUMA‘s power silo and offers heat transfer and DryCell technology, which provides excellent moisture management qualities.

Besides the new Home and Away kits, PUMA have also launched a full merchandise and fanwear collection that includes a number of accessories, leisure wear and lifestyle pieces.

Stay tuned to SoccerBible for exclusive interviews with members of the Borussia Dortmund squad. After winning two successive Bundesliga titles BVB are one of the power-houses of German football and a great acquisition for PUMA. So... yellow and black Italy home kit, and black and yellow Czech away kit. Kappa's kits were better because at least they didn't resemble any other kit out there. Poor effort in my opinion for such a great squad.

Not sure about the home kit but I like the away kit. This is my favourite German team  but they don't sell there kits in kids this isn't good as I'm only 12.

I'm going to try to get this one since it's Puma now and a known brand. I liked the Kappa ones but I didn't like the logo of silhouette of the man and woman.
