Football Shirts > Liverpool Home Replica 2012-13 - Warrior Sports Football Shirt

There's a sense of history repeating at Anfield – the Liver bird is back. It's a return to the '80s for Liverpool with the retro release of Warrior Sports first Premier League strip, who have taken over the design and manufacturing of Liverpool's kits from adidas. How will their debut design be recieved by the Anfield faithful?

The new design brings back memories of the clubs glory days – the Reds won six league titles, two European Cups, two FA Cups and four League Cups in the '80s. Can the new kit help inspire a new era at Liverpool? Let us know what you think!

The all red design is Liverpool’s first collaboration with Boston based American sports company Warrior Sports, who broke a British record following their £25m-a-year deal with the Merseyside club. King of the Kop Kenny Dalglish knows what it means to don the iconic Liver bird and will be hoping to mastermind a return to his grander playing days.

The simple design is unapologetically Liverpool, featuring the traditional and unmistakable red and yellow colour scheme of Liverpool's past dominance. The reverse side of the jersey features the eternal Hillsborough flames with the number 96, in reference to the amount of people who lost their lives during the disaster.

Speaking on the new Warrior Liverpool Home Kit, club captain Steven Gerrard said; “It’s retro, it’s comfortable, it’s good on the eye and the yellow is back which, of course, is the natural colour of the Liverbird.”  Team-mate Craig Bellamy said; “It reminds me of the Liverpool kits from the '70s and early '80s and I’m going to be very fortunate to wear it.”

The new Warrior Sports Liverpool Home Kit will be available to order from June 1st. Taking over from adidas is certainly no easy task – have Warrior delivered a design worthy of the Liver bird crest? Share your thoughts and join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

I'm loving this kit, new design, traditional color.

Lovin' the touch of adding the Hillsborough 96 emblem on it.

I'm sure some brand-whore will come in here saying Warrior Sports is nothing, but remember, it's just a jersey.

Reds for life, red in my blood. YNWA.

As soon as I saw the news at the tail end of last season that Warrior Sports were taking over from adidas I started looking at their kits for other sports to try to get some indication of what their work looks like. I had a feeling they would go with something understated, but I think this is very uninspiring. The Hilsborough thing is a nice touch, but the kit lacks class, finesse, elegance. It looks more like the kind of kit a Sunday League pub team would wear.

And I have to ask, is it that Liverpool players are skinnier than players from other teams or do they just hate fitted kits?

@enemi;

Dude, NO. A jersey will never be just a jersey.

You're a footballer, aren't you? So you must know what you're comfortable playing with.

But in the end of the day. It still depends on  the  person to like the jersey or not.

You can't force them to like it, dude.

Unfortunately, I don't like them for the mean time, but it will grow on me pretty soon.

But then again, it's just a jersey for you. Nothing quite significant. You're very wrong to say the least.

Who cares really who makes the kit along as the deal is good... There paying Liverpool so much more than Adidas would ever had paid, I heard upto €40m a season which tbh is the equivalent of 1 amazing or 3 decent players every summer coming into the squad.... Quit with the moaning about it bein warrior it's a decent kit.

Lot of people seem to be disappointed at the Kit, When I found out ADIDAS was replaced by a Warrior sports, I was pretty dissapointed.

But got to say the kit looks pretty good, might not have been revolutionary like the ones by Adidas, but then again it could've been a whole lot worse, like most of the kits from NIKE.

Definetly pre-ordering this and gonna be proud to wear it out.

AFAIK Warrior Sports are a subsidiary of New Balance, so the quality won't be in question. However, also mentioned, the change from adidas is pure business - warrior offered more money offered than Adidas, simple as that.

Politics aside, for a new sports brand to have to please such an iconic club I think they've done a really good job. Simple yes, but I like it. Certainly beats the shiny monstrosities Adidas have released the past few seasons.
