Football Shirts > USA Away Replica 2012-13 - Nike Football Shirt

Nike and the USMNT have launched the new 2012/13 USA away soccer uniform with a kit that reflects the iconic collegiate look so prevalent in American fashion and culture. Worn by the Jurgen Klinsmann's side during the USA's historic 1-0 win over four-time world champions Italy, the kit arrives at a time where confidence in US international soccer is at an all-time high.

The USA are now recognized as a dynamic football nation who are contenders on the world stage. The design of the away jersey is directly inspired by the popular varsity jackets worn in high school and college with its blue body and white sleeves, while a crossover collar features red, white and blue stripes.

The latest Nike USMNT design offers some continuity with the nations previous 2010 away strip and 2011 third kit, which both featured diagonal stripes across the front of each jersey. The new navy away shirt has a tonal sash on the front to echo past designs and reference the shirt worn by the USMNT who famously defeated England in the 1950 World Championship finals in Brazil.

Newly introduced contrasting white sleeves re-energise the navy shirt while a patriotically coloured crossover collar adds an effective form of national identity. Inside the neck the USA flag is another subtle touch to inspire pride in each player. The new away shorts are blue, while the new away socks, now with improved cushioning for greater comfort, movement and protection, are also blue with a white and red stripe at the top.

The new USMNT kit could signal exciting times ahead for US soccer as Jurgen Klinsmann aims to continue the USA's impressive international record as they look ahead to fixtures with Brazil and Scotland. Nike have incorporated effective updates into the 2012/12 USA away strip with a stronger patriotic style that has been missing in recent years.

In line with Nike’s commitment to superior athletic performance and lower environmental impact, the fabric of the new USA away shorts is made with 100 percent recycled polyester, while the fabric of

the shirt is made with at least 96% recycled polyester. The 2012 Nike USA away kit is made using an average of 13 recycled plastic bottles.

The fabric is also up to 23 percent lighter than the previous release. Embedded with Nike Dri-FIT technology, the kits help to regulate players temperatures by removing sweat from the body to keep them dry and cool faster than ever before.

Laser-cut ventilation on the Nike USA away shirt promotes localised cooling where athletes need it most so they can remain focused on the game. A new double knit structure and yarns also makes this kit 20 percent stronger, with no compromise to fit and feel and natural cotton added for comfort.

Updating your USMNT replica wardrobe with the new Nike USA Away soccer shirt will set you back around $85.00 USD and is available to order now. Let us know what you think of the latest design. Share your thoughts and join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

I like how there is actually a badge instead of an Iron on. Good job by Nike on that. But this looks very similar to the arsenal top. Idk just looks a bit strange

Great win against Italy!! I don't know what to think of the collar and sleeve. Other than that it's a pretty sick kit.
