The new Aston Villa away 11/12 away shirt features a white and grey chequered creation fresh from the Nike design factory. The two-tone grey jersey with a checker-board design features a claret round-neck collar with claret branding and sponsorship.
After Aston Villa's sponsorship deal with former sponsors FX Pro fell through, the Birmingham club have partnered with Genting Casino's for their new-look chequered strips. One of Malaysia's largest multi-national corporations, Genting have agreed a two-year deal with the Premiership club.
As with all Nike performance jerseys, the new Aston Villa 11/12 away shirt is made from recycled polyester. The lightweight playing kits (13% lighter than previous versions) actively regulate the players' body temperatures on the pitch to keep them dry and cool at all times through the use of Nike Dri-FIT technology.
Temperature regulation is helped by ventilation zones, consisting of hundreds of tiny laser cut holes from the under arms to the waistband, allowing air to circulate to keep players dry, cool and comfortable. Unlike heat transferred crests that have been introduced to some of Nike's jerseys, the Aston Villa club badge will remain stitched onto the shirt.
Stay tuned to SoccerBible as we prepare to unveil the new Aston Villa 11/12 Home Jersey. As the Midlands club look to reignite a Premier League challenge in the new season, their new chequered Nike away shirt will be leading the charge on trips away from Villa Park.
