A slight deviation from reality here, but well worth it, as we check out the Limited Edition adidas Star Wars football shirts. Which side are you on - Empire Athletics or Republic F.C...
Now we know these products aren't strictly football related, but we
love the retro styling of the football shirts which remind us of some
classic 1980's football jerseys, and we are also enjoying that adidas are having a bit of fun themselves. The Luke Skywalker shirt is described as "an exact replica of Skywalker’s Republic F.C. kit, the adidas Star Wars Good football jersey features the Jedi Sporting Goods logo and team crest, with the Trefoil and Star Wars logo in gold".
Whilst Darth Vader's football shirt, which is very reminiscent of the classic Milan shirt, is described as "a one-to-one replica of the kit Vader wears when he’s playing for Deathstar Communication. The adidas Star Wars Evil football jersey features the infamous red-and-black “Away” stripes, the Empire Athletics team crest, and a gold Trefoil and Star Wars logo".
But the adidas team replica doesn't stop there, as the galactic theme continues with the adidas Star Wars soccer track tops, which feature Good vs. Evil designs and jersey linings. It's an interesting concept, and perhaps you'd have to watch the video below to grasp what adidas are doing, but you have to admit it's a
funny concept that rather than battle it out for the ownership of the
galaxy, the Republic and the Empire fielded their best eleven!
Here's what happens in the cantina five minutes before kick-off, as the likes of David Beckham, Daft Punk, Snoop Dogg, Franz Beckenbauer, Noel Gallagher and Ian Brown settle down for the big game...
