Nike introduce their most innovative football product and subsequently change the face of football boots design forever.

The design process began way back in 2004, when Nike research and development engineers embarked on creating the ultimate football boots - a concept boot that ignored convention, ignored the rules and sought to be the greatest football boot.

Making its debut during Manchester United's 2008 Champions League victory by one unique player: Cristiano Ronaldo. The Nike Mercurial SL takes football boot technology to another level. The Nike Mercurial SL is talked about as the fastest football boot ever produced!

The complete carbon-fibre boot is constructed by weaving the material together at angles. A truly worldwide project, the upper has been hand moulded in Italy, the injection moulded outsole was constructed in South Korea and the plate engineered in Germany.

The SL's are available now and highly limited to only 550 pairs in the UK (2008 wolrdwide) - we've had our hands on them and they certainly live up to the hype. Each SL is supplied in a premium boot box, in which you'll find a certificate of authetication with each unique numbered pair as well as a soft bag to keep each boot in. Every SL has a unique number also inscribed on the tongue, so you know your are getting a piece of football history and legend in one package.

Introducing the first part of Nike's new Premium Leather football boots collection set to take Euro 2008 by storm - the limited edition Nike Mercurial Vapor IV. Set to be worn by all of Nike's sponsored Vapor players at Austria/Switerzland - including big names like Frank Ribery, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andrei Arshavin - this highly restricted release will be available from the first day of the tournament.

In 1998, the innovators and designers at Nike HQ made an impact on the global football stage by breaking from the norm. The World Cup in France saw Nike players take to the field for the first time with coloured Vapor football boots - smashing tradition and conformity. By the time of the 2006 World Cup, coloured boots were now common place. So keeping the status as leading innovators, Nike unveil their EC08 boot collection.

Now you may be thinking a leather Vapor is slightly contradictory - but you'd be wrong. Retaining all the elements of lightweight and speed that the series is famous for, the new EC08 Vapor sports a smooth, supple and flexibile K-leather upper in replace of the synthetic material as seen in regular Vapor 4's. This makes the boot give much more control and feel as well as creating the most comfortable Vapor to date. However, one player who won't be playing in these boots is Cristiano Ronaldo - he gets his own unique pair of Vapor IV's which you can see here.

Each limited edition Mercurial Vapor IV is presented in special commemorative box and dressed in EC08 insignia, representing the bond between the two host nations and their heritage.
