It has been a particularly exciting Friday at SoccerBible HQ as we've got our hands on the Puma v1.815 Ferrari boots! We're sure SoccerBible fans are eager to see more of this exciting collectors boot, so here's an updated low-down on these awesome boots, with plenty of new photos for you to check out!

First of all, the boots come in a hefty, but luxourious, black boot box which is split into two compartments. The lid lifts open to reveal the boots sitting in a moulded casing in the base and a special Ferrari booklet in the lid. The first thing that is apparant about these boots is just how incredibly light they are! We've held and played with the Nike Superfly and it is no comparision, the v1.815 Ferrari's are effortlessly light. The upper, on closer inspection, feels like a hybrid between the original v1.06 and the current v1.08, and is a superb deep racing red.

Every little detail on this boot exudes premium and quality. Gold stitching runs around the tongue, under the toe area and inside the boot as the gold Puma stripes and Big Cat provide the contrast and racing car feel. The off centre lacing means there is a large clean strike area - if you're bold enough to kick a ball with these beauties!

The boots also come supplied with a historic Ferrari booklet, packed full of heritage and iconic imagery from decades of motorsport. It is fair to say that a lot of attention and thought has gone into these boots, and it shows with level of detail and craft of this end product.

How do you make the fastest boot on the planet even faster? Simple - collaborate with arguably the biggest name in motorsport. This is exactly what Puma have done and the end result is the ultra-limited, highly desirable Puma v1.815 Ferrari Edition.

From the outset, this might look like a new v1 series boot, but this isn't just a cosmetic enhancement. The designers at Puma spent a painstaking TWO YEARS collaborating, creating and crafting the v1.815 Ferrari with alterations and additions to make the ultimate elite level football boot. So how have they got on?

One thing is for sure - you cannot argue with the looks. The flowing lines of the Puma stripe perfectly match the silhouette of the boot giving a sleek overall style. Even from a distance, the racing pedigree of this boot is already apparant, confirmed by the classy addition of the Ferrari prancing horse logo to the side of the boot.

The Puma v1.815 sports the vibrant red and gold colourway, traditionally associated with both Ferrari and Puma. The Ferrari red traces its' roots back to the way the origins of Formula 1, where each country was assigned a colour. Red was assigned to Italian cars, Green to English, Blue to France and so on. The red for Ferrari has remained ever since and now is iconic with some of the greatest moments in the sports history. So that's the heritage, now back to the boot...

Players familiar with Puma's v1 series will already know about the acceleration, agility and performance benefits the boots can give. The v1 series has been evolving over the last few seasons and this edition is no exception. A lighter weight textile material graces the upper and has added abrasion-resistance.As expected, this is a slim fitting boot that will fit snugly and close to your foot, largely thanks to another Puma innovation - AptoLast - which conforms the upper to the your natural foot curves. An even lighter Pebax frame forms the outsole base, with carbon-fiber composite inserts reducing the weight even further. Each sole also bears the unique number edition - out of 815 - and benefits from a revised external heel counter and new rear stud configuration. All this is designed to offer greater grip, acceleration and deceleration in the quest for ultimate speed.

Only 815 pairs of this ultra-limited edition boot are available worldwide, you'll have to be even quicker to get your hands on a pair.This elite level boot is expected to retail for around £250 GBP and are available for pre-order now, in preparation for the new Formula 1 season that starts on Sunday 29th March.
