The SoccerBible has once again opened our Boot Vault to find a classic football boot from yesteryear. This time we've brought back the first generation Nike Tiempo Ronaldinho 10R football boots, as worn by the iconic Brazilian footballer.

Launched 4 years ago in late 2006, the Ronaldinho 10R series was the first complete signature line Nike had created exclusively for one of their football stars. But the 10R Tiempo Ronaldinho wasn’t just made for Ronaldinho, he helped create them.

It was Ronaldinho himself who, at the Nike design centre grabbed a pen and drew a circle on the in-step of his old boots. That was the size of the sweet spot he wanted and so that is what the Nike design gurus set about creating with the Ronaldinho 10R.

For starters, to provide this expanded sweetspot, a unique five-eye lacing system was developed and this was covered with a super soft fold over tongue for purer ball contact.

Ronaldinho grew up playing Brazilian Futsal. A game based on tight dribbling and absolute ball control with the sole of the foot, so the 10R featured textured thermoplastic stud tips in order to help grip the ball to maximise boot-sole ball control.

A golden sole plate reminds us of how high Ronaldinho's star was in 4 years ago, with his performances on the pitch mesmorizing and exciting.

The distinctive design elements on the 10R Tiempo Ronaldinho - three colours of stitching and a brand new "10R" logo - are included to represent strength, inspiration and joy that Ronaldinho has when playing football. Nike wanted to give each wearer that feeling of sheer joy from playing football, so these stylish additions enhanced the premium feeling and presentation of the boot.

Also at Ronaldinho’s request was the 10R’s highly polished, super smooth, yet classic black upper which is made from the soft ‘K’ leather - giving the samba star the ultimate feel and touch of the ball he wanted. The Nike Tiempo 10R is still a classic football boot today and is well worthy of its place in the SoccerBible's Boot Vault.

This original release of the Nike Tiempo Ronaldinho 10R hit stores for around £100 GBP, as was followed up by several additional colourways during the series life. Ronaldinho sported versions in Pearl, Red, Cinder and Obsidian, before migrating to the 10R Dois range in 2008.

The Nike Ronaldinho 10R Dois football boots feature a soft kangaroo leather upper, which features a quilted pattern to maintain the leather's shape and performance. And the boot has various unique features, designed in conjunction with Ronaldinho, to make the Nike 10R Dois football boots the pinnacle of touch and control.

To increase the boot-to-ball contact area the Nike 10R Dois football boots have a shortened lacing system, which enhance ball control, skill and strike. The Dois boots also have a dampened instep to assist ball control, and have a rubberised heel counter to pull off those cheeky back heels!

The sole-plate is made from a lightweight TPU, which has three forefoot flex zones for ease of movement. So, these Nike Ronaldinho 10R Dois football boots are not only stunning looking, but have been designed to assist the most skilful players' game! They are due to be released early September, but there is a chance these particular football boots may only be available in the United States.

Ronaldinho's skill on the ball is world famous, and to meet the ability of this unique individual Nike set about designing the Ronaldinho Dois football boots. Born out of the Nike Tiempo range, which sets a benchmark for ball touch, the Dois features a responsive natural leather upper with various modifications throughout the boots to enhance the wearers game.

These classy new Ronaldinho Dois football boots feature a soft white kangaroo leather upper, and are finished with gold trim and gold Nike swoosh. The interesting quilted pattern actually performs a useful function, as the stitching will maintain the leathers shape and prevent the boot distorting, therefore prolonging boot life and performance.

Developed in conjunction with the Brazilian star, the new Nike Ronaldinho Dois football boots have some unique design features aimed to improve your ball control, skill and all-round play.

There is a dampened in-step to improve ball control as the padded area will assist killing the ball, and a shortened lacing system increases the ball contact and striking area. Ronaldinho was also particularly keen on the rubber reinforced heel, due to the amount of tricks and back heels he attempts.

To be honest, these Nike Ronaldinho Dois football boots are made to such a high standard that you know what to expect. Made from durable materials, they are a comfortable pair of football boots which perform well and have some excellent design features. This latest colourway is to go on pre-order soon ahead of a 1st May launch, and are expected to retail around £110 GBP.
