The road to Brazil 2014 may seem like a long one, but already we've found ourselves thinking about what we have to look forward to when it comes to football boots. Instead of second guessing what Nike and adidas have in the pipeline, we thought we'd take a look back at the most famous tournament pack to date!
Launched in line with the 2010 South Africa World Cup, the hotly publicised Nike “Elite Pack” sent each of Nike's four silo's into overdrive! The collection represented a huge stage in Nike's continued development of performance equipment.
The striking visual change and the addition of carbon-fibre sole plates brought the T90 Laser III, CTR360 Maestri, and Tiempo Legend III to a new elite level alongside the previously released Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II. Alongside the adizero and Predator X, each of Nike's four silo's dominated the goal-scoring charts.
The high contrast colours made the boots unmissable on pitch. From Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney to Andres Iniesta and Wesley Sneijder, every Nike athlete was tooled up with their respective "Elite" level boot - a move that generated huge public attention to the brightest boots on pitch.
Nike will undoubtedly continue their tournament line into the 2014 Brazil World Cup. It's early days yet, but what would you like to see Nike bring to each of their silos? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
