Football Boots > adidas f50 adizero miCoach Football Boots - Black/Silver/Lime

It's exciting times here at SoccerBible as we look ahead to the 2012/13 season. New football boots are arriving thick and fast as brands look to bolster their boot stable for the new campaign. No boot commands attention quite like the adizero. Up next from adidas is the new Black/Silver/Lime f50 adizero miCoach.

Famous for bringing new technology and lightweight to the game, the f50 adizero has also become renowned for its catalogue of eccentric colourways that we've either come to love or hate! We don't think they'll be too much controversy around this latest release, with the adidas team having delivered a stand-out design.

When it comes to speed boot colourways, it's hard to please everyone. Recent adizero releases might not have been to everyone's taste, but we think adidas have hit a home-run with this metallic design. Barring the black & white-out f50's, this new Black/Silver/Lime release might be as toned-down as an adizero gets nowadays!

The construction of the adidas F50 adizero miCoach soccer shoes is built around three key features – Sprintskin, Sprintframe and the all new Sprintweb. The newly introduced Sprintweb – highlighted on these versions in the Silver colour, is an advancement on the TPU Bottom Frame from the previous adizero Prime.

The Sprintweb offers increased lateral stability and support, especially across the mid-foot, to transfer the forces from the outsole to the upper.

The adiLite Twin material is retained for the 'Sprintskin' upper, as it's been a hugely successful single-layer synthetic which reduces weight and gives improved ball feel. For this new generation of the adizero, the upper has been given a more textured finish to improve ball control and touch.

The 'Sprintframe' outsole is still a revolutionary one-piece chassis; thin, flexible and lightweight, the 'Sprintframe' is the main source of the adizero's speed. Retaining the heel support, the Speed Cell cavity adds to the rigidity you need in the mid-foot area, whilst there is still plenty of flex where needed.

The introduction of miCoach technology continues to change the boot game, with more players jumping on the miCoach bandwagon. By delivering precise information direct to your computer, the chip allows you to track and upload performance data including speed, max speed, number of sprints, distance, and distance a high intensity levels.

The new Black/Silver/Lime f50 adizero miCoach football boots are available to order now from selected online stockists, with a global retail price of around £150 GBP / €210 EURO / $200 USD. Alternatively you can purchase the bundle including the miCoach Speed Cell for £200 GBP / €245 EURO / $270 USD.

The adizero miCoach range has been treated to a few hit-and-miss colourways so far this season. What do you think of the brands latest design? Share your thoughts on adidas' latest colourway online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Unfortunately this boot will offer very little support. I tend to advise my players to wear a more rigid boot.

The synthetic material offers very little protection.

With these two things in mind, it's inevitable that you are going to be more prone to injuries throughout the course of a long season.

You put blood sweat and tears into training and games, please don't jeopardise all that gruelling effort by wearing this boot and increasing the chance of a serious injury.

I would advise a traditionally made boot. Pelé Sports boots seem great, I have 6 of my lads in them for the start of pre-season which starts tomorrow (exciting times I am sure you will agree!)

By the way guys, I'm a 1st team coach at a Professional Football Club. I am new to this site but want to make friends and help everyone I can.

You may get to know some of the many funny and surprising stories from my lengthy career in the game I am likely to share too!

All the best.

Nice!

I know the game - Looks like all the pros who wear them do okay though? i agree that your typical kangaroo skin leather boot will probably be more comfortable but there are masses of pros who wear these boots for whole seasons, year in year out and they don't get injured though their boot choice?!

I Know The Game said:

Thanks guys.

Of course it is all personal opinion. I just think the risk of injury isn't worth the few grams difference in weight!

The thing is you see, you are talking about what I like to call 'ELITE' players - your Messi's and Ashley Young's of this world where, in their game the slightest of margins in weight, perhaps makes more of a difference than say grass roots, or even the lower echelons of the Pro game (which is where I am).

3 of our boys got injured last year, damaging the 'Rooney bone' (you know the one!) and it was all down to lack of lateral support. I will not say which boots they were wearing, but safe to say they switched shortly afterward for their rehabilitation training and stuck with the boots they had instead for the rest of the season. All 3 of which were a more traditionally made, leather boot from one of the leading brands.

I hope you understand my points here chaps, I don't wish to tell you what boots to wear, but I am probably more experienced than most on this site and thought it may be helpful if I added my opinions, bearing in mind what my job is and how long I have been in the game!

If anyone thinks I am being a tad pretentious, please let me know, this is the last thing I want to do. I just want to make friends and advise the younger generation as best I can.

@Tangerine4Life Pretty much all of the pros change them every month because of new colors coming out or their boots rip

July 3, 2012 3:33 PM

Tangerine4Life said:

KostaFootball, Yes, I realise that, but the point was they still wear the same model of boots for the entire season and don't seem to suffer from too many boot-generated injuries.

I know the game - fair point re the level of player. Certainly the pitches they play on will also be a much better standard than most get to use

@ I Know The Game - most of the youngsters on here like 'elite' boots. They do not appreciate staple boots such as Hummel or Pantofola d'Oro. Please continue to share your views on here - nice to see someone else who knows the game.

Hey, guys, thanks!

I like a debate, but I will say that all my points will be based on what I have been taught by experts and what I have learnt through experience throughout a career that spans nearly 4 decades.

Everyone has opinion, I won't use logic, as I'm a complicated person and will probably end up rambling. But will instead just use experience and learnings to give you guys a head start! If you can gain some of my experience before you've even started, it has to be good right?

We can all learn from eachother and remember guys, no one's opinion is necessarily wrong, just because you don't agree with it. I understand not everyone will agree with me! I wouldn't be so arrogant as to assume everyone will hang off every word I say.

If I were a youngster of 14-17 starting out now, I would probably be a little more reserved, but I feel I am bound  to have learnt some valuable information in nearly 40 years in the game!

Feel free to private message me by the way, I'm happy to spare some of my time for the good of the game - a lot of you guys could be the future of it!

Cheers

Hi I know the game I have eight pairs of football boots but I'm only twelve I agree with you that leather is better than synthetic but I don't see any difference in my Nike tiempo elites( kangaroo leather) than my Adidas predators which are normal leather. So I ask this question is there much point in spending more for kangaroo leather boots than for normal leather boots i.e. Adidas predators.

@Neymar Skills,

Kangaroo Leather does not give necessarily more support than standard cow leather but generally kangaroo leather boots are top-end and thus would be made better. For your case, Predators vs Tiempo Elites, it really won't make much of a difference, I've used both ranges and they're very sturdy boots.

@I Know The Game i have had my f50's on all sorts of pitches for 2 years which are not too far away from these, im suree adidas wouldn't make boots that aren't safe to use.It also depends on what position you play this means you can't wear thse if your playing centre back or central midfield because  they do not give enough support thats why you see only wingers, full backs and strikers wearing these kind of boots.

@I know the game -

I too have more than 3 decades of pro / semi-pro experience in the upper echelons of british football. We may even know some of the same people! Where have you worked? It's really nice to see some older chaps (no offense meant!) on here sharing their knowledge. It was actually seeing you appear on here just the other day that inspired me to join up.

I myself think it is sensible to embrace all the new technologies available the big brands such as adidas and Nike but like I tell my players - If you are good..you are good. The boots don't maketh the man!

i_am-clive i was like you when i was 14, you're an 'internet warrior' you have confidence and strength but only when you're behind a computer screen. You can say anything you want to anyone you want because there are no repercussions and no consequences, you will never meet anyone on here in real so you're safe in your room. but in reality, if you meet anyone you insult on here you wouldnt even make eye contact. STOP using the 'leave a comment' part of this site to insult people, put them down and ultimately make yourself feel better, when i close my laptop i carry on with my life that i quite enjoy and im happy with, you seemingly don’t have with your life thats why you look for confrontation, arguments and fights on here because it distracts you from that life and makes you feel big, tough and confident everything you want in real life but in the real world you clearly don’t have. i feel sorry for you

i_am-clive grow up and mature, i feel ridicous telling an older man to do this. im only just 18, out of college and onto to uni and normally only have to tell kids of 14-17 to stop acting tough on the internet. its cowardly because you know you will never have to meet anyone you insult and you will never have to live up to confident hard personality you are expressing on here

i (like everyone on here) found this site because i love football boots and the commercial side of the sport. respect other people on here for that and they will respect you aswell. that alone will give you a better feeling inside than insulting someone to feel big will. 'leave a comment' is a way to express an opinion on here and interact with others & have a lively debate even. i hope like i did you will mature and realise you get nothing out of insulting strangers
