Football Boots > Umbro GT II Pro St George's Collection - White/Vermillion/Claret

Umbro step it up a gear in their Euro 2012 preparations with the reveal of a new patriotically inspired line of football boots. Following the launch of the new England kit, Umbro turn their attention to the footwear of their international stable, including players such as John Terry, Gary Cahill & Kyle Walker.

Unveiled for the first time on St. George's Day, the new series is inspired by England’s patron saint and is Umbro's first major tournament collection. The red striped theme has been designed to unify each of the brands three silos – the Speciali III, Geometra Pro and as featured below, the GT II Pro.

The red and white colour scheme of the St George's flag is the fundamental inspiration behind this patriotic collection, with the unified striping detail referencing the Umbro jacket worn by England manager Sir Alf Ramsey which is also featured on the current home kit. Varying in size and shape across each boot, the patterned design occupies the heel areas for a visually powerful look.

The unification of boot silos is something we've seen before at an international tournament. The Nike WC10 pack was a huge success, giving each of Nike's four boots an immediate on-pitch presence. Umbro have taken a similar design route for the St. Georges boot collection, with a clear focus centred on England's international team.

The England team isn't shy of an Umbro face or two – they're one of the most represented brands in the entire squad. Kyle Walker, John Terry, Gary Cahill, Joe Hart, Andy Carroll and Darren Bent are all in line for first team action this summer, making the on-pitch potential of the new St. Georges boot collection an exciting prospect!

Umbro athletes Kyle Walker, Gary Cahill and John Terry are all in the frame for first choice defensive duties at this summers European Championships. Walker has enjoyed a spectacular season wearing the Umbro GT II Pro, being named PFA Young Player of the Year. While Chelsea duo and Speciali wearers Terry and Cahill have formed a strong partnership at club level.

On a technical note, The Umbro GT II Pro features a lightweight Japanese micro-fibre upper that provides both softness and strength, with asymmetric concealed lacing for a greater striking surface. The Umbro GT II Pro comes with a lightweight sole plate that is built to give improved grip and traction giving you an extra boost when you're skipping away from defenders.

The new Umbro St George Collection is available to pre-order now for launch on May 4th. If you're looking to kit yourself out England-style for the summer season, the Umbro GT II Pro will set you back the standard £90.00 GBP/$140.00 USD/€ 110.00 EURO.

Umbro have shown their cards for the 2012 European Championships. Let us know what you think of their patriotic efforts! Are you excited to see Kyle Walker and co. kit up in style this summer? Join the conversation and share your thoughts online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

A good move by Umbro and they look impressive.  However, this has clearly been driven by the Nike boys who own Umbro. The colour blocking is almost identical to the Nike WC10 collection and the new Euro12 collection which can be found online.

Umbro is now owned by Nike. I mean, just look - the GT II Pro is like a Vapor-shaped Teijin upper and a T90 outsole. The slight difference is the offset lacing.
