Football Boots > Umbro Geometra Pro Football Boots - White/Red

The expanding 'control' boots category now boasts another addition to its impressive range! Umbro have officially announced the release of the new Umbro Geometra Pro football boots – a visually and technologically impressive boot that focuses on ultimate control.

Taking design inspirations from other 'control' boots on the market – most noticeably the Nike CTR360 – the new White/Red Umbro Geometra Pro football boots are packed with new features designed to improve your control of the ball. Take a look and share your thoughts with the SoccerBible community online, on Facebook and on Twitter.

The success and popularity of the relatively new 'control' category - kick-started by the Nike CTR360 - has created a battle zone for brands all looking to be top-dog in the world of 'control' football boots. So much so that adidas have repositioned the new adiPower Predator as a control boot! It's become a fierce area of the market, but Umbro feel they now have a genuine contender in the shape of the Umbro Geometra Pro!

The new Umbro Geometra Pro soccer shoes arrive fully equipped with a high grade kangaroo leather upper for a superb fit and feel for the ball. The soft leather upper acts as the foundation for new technological innovations designed to improve your ball control. Umbro know where their strengths lie and have utilised the same leather upper featured on the legendary Speciali range.

One of the main features introduced for the new Umbro Geometra football boots is the ECZ – Energy Control Zone – which has been designed to absorb excess energy quicker for better ball control. The ECZ sits on the instep of the Geometra Pro and is made up of high-density foam.

At SoccerBible we had early access to an Umbro Geometra Pro prototype. Our friends at Umbro have since confirmed that the ECZ strips will be a darker grey – not the red colour featured above in our exclusive images and others circulating the web! A white Umbro Diamond logo will also feature on the dampening pads.

Another key feature is the swerve coated 'grip surface' visible on the inside toe-area of the Umbro Geometra Pro. This material is technically applied to the Geometra vamp to allow an improved ball feel in wet and dry conditions whilst offering better distribution abilities.

Sitting next to the ECZ are new dampening pads positioned towards the inside rear of the boot. Labelled as 'Tejian Medial Pads', the technically surfaced pads contain memory foam for enhanced ball control. The combination of the ECZ and the Tejian Medial Pads draw clear design inspirations from Nike's winning formula used in the CTR360 boots.

Visually the new Umbro Geometra Pro football boots offer a streamlined look with clean design features. The soft k-leather white upper with red detailing provides a classic Umbro look that we've previously seen on Speciali colour-ways. Expect to see a brighter follow up to the White/Red Umbro Geometra Pro soon!

The sole-plate used on the new Umbro Geometra Pro might be recognisable to some! Another clear CTR360 inspiration, the Geometra Pro outsole has been designed to enhance ball trap control with its carefully considered stud positions.

Without compromising traction, stability or durability, the Umbro Geometra Pro outsole effectively enhances ball control. The sharper heel studs combine to help lock down the planted foot while the other controls the ball.

The new White/Red Umbro Geometra Pro football boots will be available to order from early July with prices impressivley set around £90 GBP / $150 USD / €100 EURO.

Now you've had a look at the brand new Umbro Geometra Pro soccer shoes, are you a fan? Share your thoughts with the SoccerBible community online, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Looks like a solid boot for the money.  Actual lace holes in the shoe would be better opposed to the fabric ones built on the inside, but whatever. . .

effin ugly. umbro has not come up with one single good boot ever, except the specialis and the firsth generation of the stealth. these are just some cheap copy of ctrl360.

these seem like they would perform very well. The sole plates nice and k leathers a big plus. These are great boots and you're really getting your moneys worth with it only costing $150. The only thing that sucks is that theyre ugly as hell. if these were decent looking i would definitely consider buying.

In my opinion, both of the boots gave almost the same comfortable & ball-control, but this UMBRO Geometra Pro gave a 'lil extra comfortable in the control & changing direction suddenly on the real game.  CTR360 Maestri can provide with more various colour, but if U wanna the best control boot with the best price, I think U can consider this boot for...
