The new Nike Tiempo Legend IV is made from a combination of super soft k-leather and Nike's revolutionary Kanga-Lite material. The high abrasion k-leather used in the new Legend IV soccer shoes is the second softest leather available – second only to the Tiempo Elite – but boasts a stronger and lighter material, whilst offering a superb feel for the ball.
The design of the tongue has changed in the new Tiempo Legend IV and now features a carefully positioned slit to avoid unwanted bone and tendon contact. Memory foam has also been introduced for extra comfort as well as creating a smoother foot shape for accurate kicking contact. The lace loop hole has been widened, allowing the tongue to stay in the right position.
Another new feature found in the Nike Legend IV is the new 'FITSOLE' sockliner that has previously been used in Nike running shoes. Now customized for football, the new sockliner is thinner, bringing your foot lower to the ground. The synthetic leather cloth material with non-slippage patterns on the surface allows the side-to-side movement required in football.
The Nike Tiempo Legend IV comes fully equipped with an all new FG sole-plate. Unlike the previous Legend III, the new outsole is made from a one piece TPU plate. Side bars in the mid-foot area are designed to provide torsion strength while the four rear studs are angled inwards to reduce the heel pressure.
Vamp stitching on the upper is one of the key factors in providing the soft touch and feel the Nike Legend is famous for. The new diagonal stitching in the Tiempo Legend IV prevents the boot from over stretching while the minimal-stitched area at the front of the boot creates a clean surface for great touch.
The new heel design has been rolled out across the whole Legend IV range. The Nike Legend has always had the iconic stripe piece on the heel. Now for the Legend IV, this classic design feature has been made functional as well as iconic.
The coloured diagonal heel stripes have been designed to increase the boots visibility, enhancing your team-mates peripheral vision towards the shoe.
Small studs in the toe and heel area of the Nike Tiempo Legend IV provide extra traction for the toe off. The small studs in the heel enable a smooth transition and extra traction on your stopping an cutting movement. Pointier studs provide better penetration, enabling more agile and faster movements.
The Nike Tiempo Legend IV soccer shoes will be available to pre-order from June 20th for a July 1st launch and will be priced at around £120 GBP / $150 USD / €135 EURO.
