Football Boots > Hummel Legend Football Boots - Black/Neon Yellow

There was an unexpected arrival at SoccerBible HQ this morning! The new football boots just keep on coming and we're certainly not complaining! After the come-down of the Nike Superfly III release, our friends at Hummel have brought something entirely different to the table with these new Black/Neon Yellow Hummel Legend football boots.

We can't get enough of retro football boots here at SoccerBible, and they don't come much more classic than Hummel. Steeped in history, the iconic trademark chevrons are instantly recognisable across the world...

Last summer, Hummel made a bid for attention with the release of the Old School Star series that celebrated everything we fondly remembered about the Danish brand. Now, nearly a year on and they are making their presence felt once again!

These new Hummel football boots are fresh out of the factory so not a great deal is known about them. One of the most unique features of the new Hummel Legend football boots is the retro pattern that runs the entire length of the super soft k-leather upper.

Hummel has almost a legendary story attached to the history of the brand. The pattern inspiration came from how the Egyptians communicated and left their mark for thousands of years through use of iconic graphic monogram designs. The dates included in the design signify key moments in Hummel's history that have been communicated in the time line on the heel of the boot.

One thing you instantly notice with the new Hummel Legend boots in hand is the quality of the leather. Hummel have built a reputation on high quality football boots and the super-soft k-leather upper on these new boots only emphasis this fact.

Constructed from a high grade Kangaroo Leather with good stretch properties and high tear resistance for a comfortable, glove-like fit and added ball control, the upper of these Hummel football boots also features a professional fold over tongue.

No doubt the SoccerBible team's favourite feature is the professional-standard fold over tongue (more boots should have these!). To add to the retro authenticity, the fold over tongue features a monogram of Hummel's most iconic boot from their archive!

It's not all old school design as there is some technology talk about. Hummel have incorporated a ''Durable Flexsole'' mid-sole and added an anatomically moulded cushioning sock-liner for improved comfort.

A classic traditional styled lightweight moulded stud out-sole certainly compliments the retro look. Again the chevron logos feature here, running the length of the sole and following the natural arch of a foot. A TR injected internal heel counter and a soft leather lining only add to this feeling of comfort and stability.

Today's modern football boots look like they’re from another planet when you compare them to the Hummel Legend boots! It's always interesting to hear the SoccerBible communities opinion on retro boots so let us know what you think...

hummel kinda makes me want to puke sometimes....as in right now. i really just dont get the point of having boots that serve no purpose on the field.... do they think these will really get that nerdy defender to read that heel and get distracted -_- NOT cool

ok first of all, lummers...shut the fu ck up. Just reading your comment is pissing me off. And don't put down hummel and then say you like them. Second, gak8, these are heritage boots you twat, the whole point of them is to have little to no technololgy on them at all. Just like they had when there was no tech on boots. Theyre just a stylish leather boot for performance and comfort. So dont write these off because they dont have tech on them which more times then not, is more of a gimmick anyway....like the boot, love the colours

@aussie footbal

im not understanding the "performance" part of these boots. i hope we can agree that things like soleplates can affect how we play, and im not talking about SPF 2,3 crappy sense stud. all of the new boots have new tech in there studs, little things that obviously help. Pros do not where these boots becuase they arnt really the preforming type. i can agree with the hertitage/comfort part but not function.

I know nothing of Hummel other than I used to own some old Real Madrid and Danish National Team jerseys.

Those old-fashioned studs are just fine especially on parched dry pitch during mid-summer (consider them like hard-ground outsoles).

Dear G-Man,

Possibly, just possibly they remind Nikemercurial23 of copas because:  they have 12 studs, an internal heal counter, a fold over tongue, centre lacing, k-leather and concave studs...

It's a bit like when a WV Golf remind most people of a Seat Leon in the sense that they are both Golf-Class cars even though on is green and the other is light pink.

Sincirely yours

anfol

julian.clary said:

Whats a WV Golf? also its 'sincerely' not sincirely.

also you can't possibily compare a golf to a leon, so no, it's not the same.

sincerely yours

Well you got me good there Julian, and twice none the less but not three times.

Of cause it is should not have been WV but VW (the V is pronounced as F) and yes sincerely only has one i in it.

But to to write that I can't compare a Golf to a Leon is simply outrages:) as they are both hatchbacks, roughly the same size, have two rows of seats they and they both even have 4 wheels!!!. The Leon is even build on the same platform as a Golf! :-)

Sincerely yours only Julian
