Football Boots > Hummel Old School Star Pio Football Boots - Black/Chrome/Vanilla

We love new football boots at the SoccerBible. We love retro football boots too. Infact, it is simpler to say we just love football boots full stop. So when these new Hummel Old School Star Pio Football Boots turned up at SoccerBible HQ, straight away it was the perfect combination of new and retro boots!

Check out our exclusive gallery on Hummel's new 2010 release, the Old School Stars Pio...

Hummel is steeped in history within football, where those iconic trademark chevrons are instantly recogniseable across the world. The Old School Stars series celebrates everything we fondly remember about Hummel - but with modern materials, craftsmanship and production.

The Old School Stars Pio is the top of the range edition. Constructed from a thin, lightweight high grade Kangaroo Leather these boots offer a genuinely glove-like fit once on. The great stretch properties and high tear resistance of the supple leather give this comfortable feel and give outstanding ball control and touch.

A classic traditional styled lightweight moulded stud outsole certainly compliments the retro look. Again the chevron logos feature here, running the length of the sole and following the natural arch of a foot.

It is not all old school design as there is some technology to talk about. Hummel have incorporated a "Durable Flexsol technology" to the mid sole area and added an anatomically moulded cushioning sockliner for more comfort.

A TR injected internal heel counter and a soft leather lining only add to this feeling of comfort and stability.

No doubt the SoccerBible team's favourite feature is the professional-standard fold over tongue (more boots should have these!). Covering the centred laces cleanly and stylishly is the Hummel wordmark - a tough choice between this and the bumblebee logo.

The distinctive double chevrons adorn the instep and outstep of the boot, finished with a classy reflective touch to highlight the premium feel of these boots. On other releases in the Old School Stars range, this amends to a white stitched logo which still looks stylish and clean.

These Hummel Old School Stars Pio football boots are available to pre-order now ahead of a 1st July retail release. If you want to get your hands on a pair, you'll be looking at around £80 GBP / $120 USD for these top end editions.

Hummel have also released several takedown versions, with varying qualities of upper material to suit more limited budgets.

Looks way too simple. If they want to be a big company they must innovate something which people want to buy.

damn you guys hate alot. it's sad that it kills most of you that other football companies besides nike and adidas even exist. for those who don't realize, this is actually a fairly original release from hummel. most of their shoes for the past half decade have been flashy, gold, green, or pink, spotted, you name it. it's wonderful to see hummel return a renovated classic to the market. by the way, they are hardly a copy of  copas; remember that damn near every boot between the beginning of the game and the 80's looked EXACTLY the same anyways.

Not the best boot in the range however would rather wear than the rascal Vapor, F50 etc. If you have a bit of style and culture you wear a boot like this or the copa, tiempo premier otherwise your clueless.  Soccer Sixes when the musicians and actors play not a vapor in sight all heritage boots...nuff said.

You kids really have no idea...this is football heritage at its finest. To say this boot is a copy of a Copa Mundial is an insult. Also Hummel have been involved with football for a lot longer than Nike can even dream of. This is a real football boot made from the finest materials for the finest players!

Classic boot and boots like this will always be around from the classic companies. Hummel are football veterens and will never leave the game.

One of the quickest players in the game wears these and is faster than any of those in so called light weight boots Dennis Romehdal.

It's alright I guess. But really, no offense to Hummel and Hummel loyalists, Hummel must change their designs to attract customers of the 21st century. I'm not saying it's a bad boot. I'm saying it doesn't appeal to most people and it probably won't sell a lot.
