In the football boots world the Nike Mercurial Vapor's are a very popular choice, with an almost cult following due to their cutting edge for design and innovation, and this new colourway is a great addition to the family!
Designed for ultimate speed, the Nike Mercurial Vapor V football boots have a sleek aerodynamic design and are one of the lightest football boots on the market, weighing in at just 230grams.
The main upper is made from a one-piece material to improve the boots
surface, so there aren't any stitching seams apart from where the upper
is fixed at the heel. The material is a Teijin synthetic, which is a lightweight and thin material that moulds the boot to the wearers foot, improving ball feel. Nike also had feedback from players including Cristiano Ronaldo and Robinho to create a "speed touch area", a unique print application featured at the front of the boot where the swoosh sits to give more grip and enhance ball touch when dribbling the ball.
A popular feature of the more recent Mercurial Vapor football boots is the lace cover, which provides a clean and improved striking area for excellent boot-to-ball contact. And on this new colourway the smooth white surface looks extremely classy!
A major advancement Nike made with the Vapor V football boots was to introduce their Flywire technology (as shown on the
picture above). Acting like the cables of a suspension bridge, the Flywire panel supports the feet and adds additional strength to the material.
To improve player acceleration, speed and movement Nike have designed their unique traction
sole-plate for these firm ground versions of the Nike Vapor V football
boots. The design gets the most effective grip between the boots and
the playing surface to enhance both speed and movement. And the heel area features an internal heel counter offering stability and protection from frustrated defenders!
